One would need to be very careful when ready any "news" in the Daily Mail - a newspaper which hardly has a reputation for printing unbiased, balanced news items in a fair and reasonable manner. This publiction tends to invite Xenophobic attitudes and to reduce complex arguements to platitudes that appeal to the (often but sadly not exclusively) lowest common denominator in society who are literate.

A single story will hardly ever contain the full facts of a situation and will require further consdieration and inquiry in order to comprehend the situation fully, before then allowing a reader to make an informed judgement and draw inferences based on rounded facts as opposed to a knee-jerk reaction.

As for assylum seekers generally, I have nod doubt some are taking the ****, but we cannot therefore assume that they all are. For those who have not lived under genuinely horrendous conditions I would posit that it is nigh on impossible to comprehend and assylum seeker's plight.

This Country relies on "foreigners" to make it work. Without "foreigners" the outmoded and decayed Empire that once made Britain "Great Britain" would not have been formed, funded or sustained at all. Britain owes so much for its place in the world to so many that it is only right that it provides some balance in a troubled world (that it helped create by its historical action) by assisting a small proportion of those seeking assylum.

The Torys have/will put a cap of £400 per week max on housing benefit to save £20 Billion

Also if he has 7 rugrats, move him to a cheaper area, like Scotland :)

also the story is in the Telegraph, so not just Daily fail carp

Firstly, Great Britain is a geographic term, not a political term. If I remember correctly it was invented to distinguish from Lesser Britain (Brittany) in what is now France.

Secondly, why should people of today pay for what people of in previous centuries did? The people of these islands do not owe these particular Somali free loaners anything. They should be dealt with decisively, as should any native Britons who act similarly.

By giving them a more expensive house than the one they already have, just because it is apparently in a "poor area"? Erm, no thanks.

I'm pretty damn certain he'd prefer not to be back in the absolute ****hole that is Somalia, so I'm sure he can bloody deal with his 5 bedroom house in London. :rolleyes:

Some people want everything handed to them, and then usually have nothing to contribute.
 
Not to be anal, but they are not asylum seekers since the article says they were granted asylum in 1999. Now with the naturalisation rules back then and even now, no doubt they all have British passports by now too. I think people need to look less at "OMFG asylum seekers get everything and I get nuffin'" and more at inefficiencies within the council and people who actually made this decision. I know accommodation is hardly in abundance in the South but I'm pretty confident there were much cheaper options out there.
 
Asylum seeking is a complete farce. The UK suffers by taking Somalis in while the situation in Somalia is still as bad as it ever was.

They should have stayed in Somalia and fought for their country like our ancestors did.

There is no use them coming over here bringing their backward culture with them which has produced no society of any note.

Surely the problem here is with the housing benefit system rather than the people who find the loopholes? Anyway, there are far more 'indigenous' benefit scroungers than foreign ones.

Sometimes the minority of overtly racist and xenophobic demographic on here depresses me.

I think some people just read the article in the OP in threads such as these, and then go in to an idiot-like blind state of rage at anything that isn't 100% English.

If the OP is true though, that is utterly ridiculous.
