It sounds like you've been reading too many Tory newsletters. How do you explain the financial crises in every other country? Y'know, the other countries without the "welfare state"? I suppose we would've avoided the global financial meltdown were it not for them bloody foreigners.

The financial crisis was caused by greedy people being too greedy and not making rational informed decisions on borrowing and lending practices. Frankly the Government had so little to do with it that your suggestion is utter tripe.

Thats not an opinion, its a fact, people figured out that you can't spend more than you earn a few thousand years ago.

Although Nu Labour and the Republicans thought they had discovered the elixir of life and could spend more than they recieved forever and ever, however they found out abruptly that you can't and unfortunately the rest of us will have to suffer big time.

you have a fair point, however you can inflate the debt away, and also other assets can grow in value to offset what you borrowed...

He does have a fair point, it's indisputable logic that you can't spend more than you earn, barring obvious exceptions like you say, but his argument was that "freeloaders" caused the financial crisis, which he seems to be backing away from now. I don't blame him, mind, because it's utterly hilarious.

Of course there are many more examples of where the Governments waste tax payers money so I aren't suggesting that if we stopped all money to assylum seekers things would change overnight, but putting a family from Somalia in an £8000 a month house is just a sign of the gross incompetence and corruption involved in Government finances.

Are the government really peeing money away on "freeloaders" to the extent you think? Personally, I don't know the figures, but I'd be interested to hear them if you do.

Going back, this thread demonstrates the Daily Mail and the sort of nonsense it uses to boil the hatred in people and sell papers, and I wouldn't be surprised if you're under the impression that "freeloaders" are getting an easy ride and the government are wasting money on them almost purely because of the stuff the Daily Mail and its ilk spew out on a daily basis. Half of the country are just filled with hatred and false information because of the media.

I don't know why anyone thinks a cap of £400 PER WEEK is any better to be honest. That is roughly £1733 a month on rent. Am I the only one that thinks that amount of money on housing benefit is a complete joke?

I really hope that story is a lie because if it isn't then I personally feel like crying at the state of the UK.
