Fact is if the system is open to abuse then most people will take full advantage of it ie find the loopholes to take advantage...fair play on the guy but nothing will change till the system gets fixed.
 
is the new government not capping housung benefit at £400 a week? will that not stop these extreme examples of the system gone wrong?

What really depresses me is the huge amount of PC New Labour drones like you who don't even have the ability to think for yourselves. You would have been a Bolshevik commisar under Stalin, sending people to their deaths who did not preach the Party line.

Not really about race, is it? It's about culture and the way people behave. You don't have to base your identity around your race. Not all cultures are equal.

I think that although it's a minority, it is a very vocal one. I would agree that this forum has a disproportionate number of these members though. I think that's a shame although I do respect their right to free speech even if their opinions are, well, wrong.
 
They should be banned. Whenever anything like this is posted here, they come out of the woodwork. On any of the other forums I post on, they wouldn't last long.

This argument is always used. We're not allowed to post links to competitors, why should we be allowed to be obnoxious xenophobic hate-filled idiots? This is a privately owned forum, there is no such thing as freedom of expression here so long as there are rules in some areas, so why "freedom of expression" in this one?

edit: Freedom of speech is great, and I'm a fierce supporter of it, but hating people because of where they come from is just wrong and stupid, and everyone knows this. We supposedly have "freedom of expression" in society, in law, but we're not allowed to incite racial hatred or discriminate in the real world, so why is it allowed here?

Wrong Burnsy, all forums are rife with racism. This i probably the most moderate forum I visit. Not that I have a problem with that, but that is really not the point in question.

There is no way that anyone on benefits should be getting that much for housing, regardless of their situation. Can anyone disagree with that?

disproportionate? I would say its under represented...

weather right or wrong most people I work with, or know, or have know when presented with 'foreign person did x y or z' would say 'send them home, why do they all come here.....'

or maybe all the racists live down south and the northerners are all much more tolerant?

No it hasn't. We're in a global recession. Undoubtedly money has been mismanaged, but if you're blaming difficulty obtaining a mortgage or whatever on asylum seekers, kill yourself, because the Daily Mail has won.

I don't think anyone disagrees that the situation in the OP is outrageous. But, I'd be very surprised if it isn't massively exaggerated, if it has any foundation in truth at all. The asylum seeker angle is added to appeal to the aforementioned xenophobic idiots who buy lots of papers. Can't anybody see what is actually going on here? The Daily Mail is appealing to your small-minded irrational hatred to make money.
