Schippers should have started her dive earlier :D

Gemili did great. If he ups his game in the final he might be in with a shout of a Bronze with Gatlin out and given how unpredictable Lemaitre is.

No much chance for Gemili (or Lemaitre) getting a medal. Bolt, De Grasse and Merritt are all likely to run under 19.8.

I suppose if one of those three blows up, that leaves the bronze open, and then it's anyone's.

Yeah it's unlikely. Gemili would need to run a PB and hope one or two of the favourites underperforms. But anything is possible, as Gatlin not making the final proves. Well almost anything, I can't see Bolt losing.

This is something I keep hearing and seeing people complain about. Unless the Olympics is held in our time zone (or +/- 1 or 2 hours) there's always going to be some form of disruption to a regular British sleep pattern in order to watch blanket coverage, whether that be getting up earlier or staying up later. Expecting it to be different seems rather arrogant.

People complain about that? Wow.

When they were watching the London Olympics, I wonder if they spared a thought for people on the other side of the world who were having having to stay up all night to watch?

They're in for a surprise when Tokyo 2020 comes around.

USA reinstated in the 4x100

Obstructed. Have to re-run (on their own, presumably) later on. Need to beat the time of the slowest qualifiers.

IE Might as well award them the silver now (if not gold)

Wish the BMX rider got the same (2nd) chance after being shoved off the track
(admittedly he may be injured, and therefore its not possible - but still doubt it would happen for anyone else)

Dont watch the video if you are at all quesy, the way he is thundered into and then falls isnt pretty at all (but he walked away at least)

Beat China by a second and now the fastest qualifier - bit of a joke, should have done a face off between China and USA as USA had all the advantages in that re-run knowing the time to beat...

ps3ud0

Yep. It's like the officials try to do the 'right thing' but ultimately mess it up. Same with the 110m hurdles heats the other night when they allowed the first two rain-affected heats to re-run, which then meant they knew what times to beat for fastest loser.

Joke really, Semenya just jogs, male physique, male test levels, has testicles. She's not running at full speed because she'd win by 5-10 seconds and cause too much controversy so she just jogs around and wins at the end without even trying. It's not even sport, it's not a competition.

She has a very lazy running style, I suspect that she was losing to women when on the testosterone reducing drugs because she's spent her life effectively with male performance competing with women, she barely needs to try. She doesn't have to work on the best form or being the actually best runner when half trying she can destroy the entire field. She was raised as a woman, but is basically a man. If she was an actual trans man to woman she would have to take test reducing pills to compete, but because she's intersexed(but mostly male) she doesn't.

Commentator saying she might go the world record, unless she has to to win I don't see it. Her whole thing now is about being allowed to compete based off test not being a huge performance improver, it's in her interest to win as slowly as possible with as small a margin as possible to those behind her.
