OK just got off the phone to sales, apparently they never had any stock of XFX 5870 only sapphire's. It was an error on the website like the 5850's.

i asked to change it to sapphire, not bothered about dirt 2 if its coupon as my bandwidth is currently limited, i heard sapphire are a good make and powercolor to be cheaper. i only went with powercolor as it said they were in stock and i didnt want to wait, if the waiting is inevitable im sure they can understand where im coming from and make the dam swap!

Anyone think it's worth putting up a short, sweet sticky RE the 58xx - power consumption, setting the record straight on the whole PCI-E 2.1 thing, ballpark performance figures and worthy upgrade paths, expected stock deliveries/variant arrivals [IE 5850 not getting here till monday, etc], a reminder to call the sales team for order enquiries rather than filling these threads up with it, etc?

Okay that is pretty shabby if true. Most of us ordered based on the presence of stock myself included.

If there was no stock we were all mislead.

If there was no XFX stock I would have ordered a sapphire. Brand wasn't important to me.

Quite why they didn't shift the XFX orders over to Sapphire when they saw the mistake is mystifying.

I sent a webnote early this morning asking them to switch me to a sapphire if the XFX weren't actually in stock, since I ordered this morning before they posted the news and got the following reply.

Thank you for your web note. We have got a delivery of them at the backdoor now, so there is nothing to worry about. Your order will be dispatched later today for you for you to receive tomorrow.

So if that's true why have I still not got an e mail saying it's being shipped, or ready to be shipped?
