That vapo one does look pretty sweet. I think ill wait on that one myself.

@nutter how can you say people deserve to be treated this way?
If people have the money to purchase an item at the current price then what right do you have to call them fools?
Granted early adopters are going to get problems but thats usually from the product itself not from the place of purchase. What is at stake here is the reputation of the retailer in question, not the product. The issue is with the retailer and not the person who purchases the said product.
Say everyone was as "shrewd" as you, there would be no sales untill the price of the product went down. That happens with supply and demand... Let the rich buy so the poor can reap the rewards.

Eh if people was not ordering these cards 1 second after they went up, maybe OCUK might have corrected mistake before people ordered bundles of them.

Seriously even when i want something, give it few hours at least, not order it on the dot:rolleyes:

Some one buy one for me plz :D

As much as i would like to click that buy button i think i'll will wait for Nvidia's DX11 cards first then see who's cards are fastest.

Just look at the size of that Vapor-X

Hehe, have a serious think about why there may have been a mistake. Then think about these people you are calling fools. Then think about how you are relentlessly defending the retailer ;p
If you do not see my point after that then i have nothing more to say :)

I think i changed my mind, i'll wait for the x2 as my 4890 is having zero problems at the moment.

Im not defending OCUK, i personally don't care. Im just saying, OCUK obviously wanted to get the site updated quickly, was obviously a genuine error, unless you saying they done it on purpose to buy stock that aint in?

I just found it odd, people sitting refreshing the screen waiting to buy one, if you miss the first orders, then so what, they will be back in stock in couple of days then everyone can get one.

This urge to be the first to have it is rather disturbing and quite childish imo.

Exactly how is it a genuine error that people got told the item was in stock, heck told that the delivery was at the door?

The problem isn't that they made a mistake on the website, it's the fact that people have been lied to after that mistake.

Well if thats true, then fair enough, not read whole thread(no offence). I thought it was just a error on website saying it was in-stock.

My bad, i apologise.:)

And surely when they saw the mistake they simply swap over the XFX orders to the available Saphires

nothing to do with it at all - the down side is that overclockers "claim" it takes 5 days to refund the money to my card (which they have already taken at the stage this morning when they claim they had a load of cards) thus i can not go elsewhere until the money is refunded.

Why post 5850's for sale when there was not a single one received today? Why take peoples money for something that isn't there?

It's not being childish at all. It's my money, i've paid for something that was never there in the first place and thus i should never had been charged for it!

There was an error on the website I do appreciate that it is not your fault but in the rush to get the products live an error a made. The Error was corrected and three cards were sold unfortunately one of them was yours.

I do apologise for this and can assure it was a genuine error and not meant to cause any harm.

Ignore nutter, he's just an imbecile trying to provoke a reaction.

No problem with that Fatboy, mistakes happen, just don't understand why the XFX weren't switched to Sapphire

What about the XFX 5870's? You and slackworth both said they were in stock and shipping later today, a webnote said they were in stock and shipping today and yet still no confirmation e mail? Was that another 'mistake' too? I even asked to be switched to a sapphire card which wasn't done due to being told the XFX were in stock.

thanks for your response - whilst i fully appreciate that mistakes can be made, i sure you can understand my frustration at having the money debited for my card for a mistake that is not mine.:)

Fatboy, why did you post at the start of this thread that XFX 5870 were in stock yet the sales guy tells me you never had any in the first place?

We had a delivery from XFX today but unfortunately it was only 5 pcs. The rest are still expected today if not today then tomorrow. We sold over 36 units in the minutes that they were available to order.

I do apologise for letting you down but the stock will 100% ship tomorrow if your hasn't already today.

I do fully understand and I too would be annoyed. I will contact you myself when the stock arrived and will offer you the first 5850 I receive.

i agree totally with ppl who have purchased a card for it not to be available,i would be not be happy either, what i dont, get if true is why does it take 5 days for a refund?i have purchased loads of stuff on my card and if it has not worked or cloths i have brought have taken back to they shop and had my card refunded there and then,5 days seems a long time to wait to me,or is it the fact we have your money and we not letting you go elsewhere now.
