ATI Catalyst™ version 10.7

As always drivers are working well for me. Am I that lucky or most of the problems you guys whine about are user related?

Don't know, don't know.

You clearly don't spend enough on ATI hardware. :p

For the majority of consumers, there are very few problems with their setup and drivers.

It's when your an early adopter (buy the latest games, and hardware) and have cards running in CF or a single 5970, or multi displays, you start seeing problems.

I wouldn't call it whine. It's constructive feedback so other's know that if they have a driver that does the job, then upgrading might not be ideal for them if they run a similar setup.

Got some issues playing AVP. Posted new thread last night but after some advice had no luck. What I want to do is delete EVERYTHING by ati and reinstall but it doesn't seem to work. When I uninstall the program files folder is gone, but then, if I reinstall, it remembers my overclock settings? I think it's since I tried using the Catalyst auto tune that has caused the issues. Anyone know what I should do?

Never mind I've found the ATI support folder on C drive. I hadn't realised that was still there. Will post a reply if I'm successful.

It still remembers my OC settings. Anyone know how to get rid of them?

You need to look under your profile folder as well on your PC, there are ATi folders in there too.

On Windows 7 it's under C:\Users\<Username>\AppData and on Windows XP it's under your C:\Documents & Settings\<Username> folder. I think it's under Application Data and Local.

Did what you said and it removed the data, but I'm still having graphical errors in dx11.

Next step is to do it again and use CCleaner as well just to give an extra thorough clean.

After that, I've run out of ideas.

I've NEVER used CCC or ATI cards before 2 days ago, so if anyone can offer some tips to a noob in this regard, with optimising it or whatever, I'd be grateful.
Thanks.

PS this is a screen capture of my error. The lag and poor quality is caused by the capture software and converting for youtube. Just look at the light coming through the canopy and you'll see what I mean. Any ideas?

Not impressed with the 10.7 release.

I play a lot of Bad Company 2, have lost 25 FPS using the 10.7 compared to the 10.4a beta's. (10.5 & 10.6 kept giving me freeze/lockups)

Looks better on the 10.4'a as well, smooth and less pop ups when running and turning.

So its a BIG THUMBS DOWN from me.

That is strange. It almost looks similar to a card that has temp issues. (i.e. flickering textures, etc). Would be interesting to see if manually upping the Fan Speed and/or slightly decreasing the clocks by 10-20Mhz fixes that.

similar for me aswell, loading takes a little longer and gameplay is far from smooth with 10.7, missed loads of shots as it tends to be jerking around on screen, back to 10.4b for me, don't think they can be beaten, at least game is smooth with 10.4b, don't mind random grass popping up, wonder when ati will get it right?

For the firs time i had issues installing these drivers, for the first few times i was getting BSOD while loading windows, when i was rolling back to 10.4 drivers everything was running properly again. I tried few times and then i installed 10.8beta drivers and they weren't working as they couldn't install ati drivers. Then somehow i managed to install 10.7, when i tried to play BC2 the performance was kinda bad compared to 10.4 as few other guys have noticed also. I like AMD/ATI, but these things doesn't give them any points. Back to 10.4 :/

Don't know, don't know.

I've just noticed a lot of those who are getting crashes have overclocked. Might be an idea to start setting cards back to default before installing future updates.

No Way!! I am now sick beyond comprehension lol

I'm runnin 1 X Dell 2408 2 X Dell 2407's in Eyefinity @ 5760 X 1200. I've not been able to get Bezel Management working at all due to the monitor size info in the EDID of the 2408 being slightly different to the 2 2407's i.e the 2408 reports a size of 52cm X 32cm while the 2 2407's both report a size of 52cm X 33cm.

I used Phoenix EDID Designer (in write mode) to change the values of the 2 2407's to 52cm X 32cm. I then saved these 2 dat files and opened them in MonInfo and saved them as .inf files

I installed both of these inf's over the existing Dell drivers. Went into CCC, made an eyefinity group. Still no Bezel Management. But..... I then tried enabling the gpu scaling for each monitor and ding! Bezel Management was there in landscape 3x1 @ 5760X1200 Hurrah i thought. Rebooted and now i have no Bezel Management. I tried to do the GPU scaling thing again but this time it won't even allow me to enable GPU scaling on any of the monitors in the Eyefinity group.

How frustrating is this? I've told ATI about this for months now. I've asked them to make CCC look at the registry only for the EDID info instead of reading directly from the monitor firmware. Its such a simple fix - ATI know it i'm sure. A hell of the lot of people have the same problem with monitors of the same physical size/resolution but ATI still haven't done anything about it. I do not want to have to flash updated EDID's to my monitors. Infact i'm not even sure if it'd be possible to flash the 2407's anyway as i think they are protected.

Any ideas? i'm pulling my hair out here lol

did you try just installing the display drivers and the application profiles, without the catalyst control panel?

i've had bezel compensation since it was introduced with 2x samsung 2433's and a dell 2408WFP

The sammies must report the same size as the 2408's then. My problem is that my 2407's report 52cm X 33cm Where as the 2408 and (i assume) your sammies report 52cm X 32cm
