ATI Catalyst™ version 10.7

I tried to install over it, but the install failed silently. I daren't remove the driver manually incase I can't install a driver at all!

Seems to be a clash with Visual Studio.

I don't actually need Visual Studio on this machine, so I'm trying to remove that first - it installs a lot of crap!

I have not updated from 10.4 in a long time.

Since everyone has had nothing good to say about drivers since then and ive never had a single issue.

I have my card overclocked if I get these drivers.

Will the IDLE clocks be increased due to my overclock.

Thats one of the reasons i didnt upgrade because it increased the idle clocks with the new drivers meaning higher idle temps.

Anyone got anything to say about this should i update to 10.7 is there anything to stop the increased idle clock/temp?

Well installed the new driver just ran some benchmarks

Going from 10.6 to 10.7
3D06:Score went up by allmost 350
Vantage:GPU score droped by about 160
Heaven 2.1:Exactly the same
Stone Ginat:Avarage droped by 2 fps

Interested more on what peeps with 5970 (Sapphire HD) say with the 10.7 - seen x2 negative replies so far (however, my main difference is I am running Eyefinity) - Any potential performance increase would be very much welcome as running BC2 I have everything on or around medium with HBAO off in order to get 60fps.

Played BC2 the other day with just the one monitor and looked flippin epic with everything maxed, so quite a trade off for the x3 monitors vs max graphics settings.

(nb: CPU is a Q9550 @ 3.5)

You will only ever see negative feedback here. Millions of ati users don't log into forums just to say the drivers work like they expect :P

Oh, and these still lock up my pc then I'm running some gpu accelerated app (flash/vlc) and open eves map screen. But that's been happening to people since 10.1 so nothing new :)

I only played briefly on first installing the game but didn't notice the issue.
Do you think where autotune has stressed the card for such a prolonged period it has done it's self in? I'd have thought that if it was the card rather than the driver it would be prominent in early versions of DX as well?

Please if anyone can help with this I'd really appreciate it. I'm getting really frustrated that I've just forked out 1200 on a new machine and a massive leap forward with technology, and the thing I was most excited about, (dx11) doesn't bloody well work. Damned ATI/Steam/whatever is causing this problem.

True, I guess if it were a heat issue or a speed/clock issue, it would do it regardless of what DX mode you set in-game.

Only thing I can think of is perhaps try and do some testing. See if maybes an earlier version of the Cats helps, if not, try running the game without AA/AF, incase it's a glitch.

I take it, running in DX9 or any other mode other than DX11 does not give the same graphical problems?

I know it doesn't help much, but when I first bought Far Cry 2 I couldn't run it in DX10 mode as it would always crash, yet DX9 was fine. Could be a similar scenario that you have here.
