ATI cuts 6950 allocation

I think it's all fishy, could nvidia have someone make all this up ?
The nvidia icons always on display seem fishy to me

Unless they are going to be less than £275

His previous card was GTX 480. He 100% has a 6970, just depends if its performance is screwed up on his system or not, or he is deliberately posting up dodgy benchmarks.

I'll ignore the loser troll in the thread, let's try and keep on topic people.

1.025 is the average voltage for a stock 480. Don't think the under volting which he has done will not have a major impact on power draw.

@ GJ02

Best to wait for the official reviews before jumping to any conclusions.

Power scales with voltage squared in simplistic terms, right? So compared to a average volted 480 it's about a 12% reduction in power, which is about 30W at 250W usage.

surely if he wanted to do anything dubious he'd at least also have bothered to remove his Nvidia icons - I think hes just an enthusiast/reviewer who gets through lots of cards

Even so does the 6970 power usage not look a little high, I mean with AMD's latest cards they have all been very efficient, this tells a different story. Anyway it could all be wrong, we will know on the 15th.

would this not of been updated to read the correct logo ?

The guy has a pukka 6970 that much is clear!

The only thing that might save the dreadful performance are the drivers.
People will hang on to anything.

69** is late, 69** is not revolution, 6970 in not the fastest gpu. Comparing it to the
Next R300 was a joke.
Amd have fallen back IMHO.

The RE5 fixed benchmark is not a very good performance indicator, it's very CPU limited, the variable benchmark is much better. Stock 580 below with 16 x QAA.
