Nah, its all good. Look at my sig. Get the latest 6.2's, they work great.the_tyke said:Always had Nvidias before so Im a total ATI noob , I could do with some advice.
I've put an X1900XT on an Asus A8N-sli. I don't want to operate in sli and only intend using one card.
I'm just a little worried that I might have problems with the gart driver with an ATI card on this board. Do you think this will be a problem.
Is there much on the software disk thats worth bothering with or shall I go straight to the ATI support for the latest cats and leave it at that.
Uninstalling old drivers and installing new ones on Nvidia cards was fairly straight forward, I hope ATI won't be much different !

I just need to sort out whether having 4 X 512 of Corsair XMS3200 is going to be a problem and whether I need to get 2 X 1 gigs.

oweneades said:Hmmm ATI for clocking doesn't work for me (x1800XT here), I have to use ATI overclocker.
I do as you do though and alter voltages / fan speeds in ATI tool yet use overclockers 2D payne to alter the clocks.
Had it running up to 700/1660 so far with 1.420v on the core.
ArchAnGeL said:Got it working. Once you have finalised clocks how are you getting them to start at boot? overclocker to the start menu?
Jimbo Mahoney said:Did ATI Tool Beta 14 not work with your card?
The problem with Overclocker is that it increases memory timings, which yes, allows the memory to clock higher, but you can't make up the speed enough to compensate for the increased latency.
