** ATi X1k/HD 3k series overclocking guide - ATi Tray Tools and ATi Tool + FAQ **

Ati tool does work with my card but I think I only tried overclcoking it with beta 12? The problem I had with that was when I set my voltage and then clocked the card, everything was fine. But if I rebooted and tried to load that profile I would get lock ups.

Did you save the voltage to the profile?

not played a lot - but my new Sapphire X1900XT - is ok at 668/786 (just pushed divider up, didnt try for nice round numbers) - scored 5,903 on '06 (X2 3800 @ 2.4) - just using CCC overdrive - not played with any volts or other tools yet - peaked at 81c IIRC. Not an artifact or niggle anywhere - so I suspect more room yet :D

Just run '05 at 675/786 and got 10790

(work in progress)
18.3K 03 = http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=4657031
10.8K 05 = http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1851179
6K 06 = http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=164328

seem ok at 680/800 maxed out using overdrive, may try one of the other tools tomorrow.

Nice clocks Jimbo, what vgpu are you using?

My XTX, now clocked with ATI tool instead of Overclocker, is at 725/875 with volts at 1.475/2.150/2.102/1.486.

That's on the stock air cooler, testing is continuing. :)

The volts are in my sig ;) (except listed Vcore, VDDCI, Vmem, MVDDQ)

max Vgpu, default VDDCI

Core on water, RAM with OCZ sinks.

With 6.2 drivers my X1900XT is being reported in Device Manager as an XTX!!!!

With CCC overdrive I am currently able to get 762 / 657 on core and memory respectively

That is a monster core clock you have. I can't really push the voltage further on mine yet until I get it on water, it's getting quite toasty under the stock cooler.

The tigher timings I'm getting on the memory from using ATI tool do have a benefit over the higher mem frequencies I got with Overclocker in 05, however it's not really the case in 01.

For some reason, I always end up with gfx cards which go crazy on the core, but are always mediochre with the memory.

Hi Guys,

I've just followed the instructions on the fuirst page and i've got a few questions / problems...

1) Every time I boot I get this error message...

2) I think my card could be a bit fu-barred. Its a connect3d x1900xt-x and my stock speeds are...

Can any one give me some advice please?

Thanks,

Agent.

My latest results.

System:

Opteron 146 @ 3.4Ghz
1GB Mushkin Redline @ 243Mhz 2-2-2-5
DFI Ultra-D (unmodded)
OCZ 600W Powerstream
6.2 Cats

Old Scores: X1900XT-X @ 729/891 (clocked with Overclocker so mem timings are loosened)

01: 41,995
03: 21,939
05: 13,605
06: 6,112

New scores: X1900XT-X @ 725/873 (clocked with ATI tool)

01: 42,339
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8915278

03: 22,241
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=4657952

05: 13,872 (14k may be possible here)
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1852650

06: 6,203
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=165215

So, it is definitely better to keep the tighter timings with ATI tool than use the extra bandwidth in Overclocker.

Well testing so far has a stable result of :

Powercolor 1900 XT, watercooled with polarflo block and nothing on the memory (naked memory heh!)

Core : 750 mhz (1.5 volts)
Memory : 800 mhz (under volted slightly)

3DMark 2003 : 20,406
3DMark 2005 : 11,950 (Going for 12,000 now)

Idle temp : 40 degrees
Uber loaded temp : 52 degrees

dunno how to fix it but i cant use ATT atm

If you choose the option to disable overclocking when you install ATT it works fine, the software doesn't supporting overclocking on the X1900s yet.

As for the 500/600, it's normal, those are the default 2D speeds, there's information about what to do on the first page of this thread I think.

Nice. Similar to me. I'll have a play with the voltage on the memory.

Wanna little competition? I JUST get 13k in 3DMark '05 ;)
