If the first one was a valid sentence, it would have a secondary part to it...Having said all that emos do is THIS.....then THIS...but it doesnt, it simply continues as a simple sentence...

It seems to me that you simply missed the word 'that'..and then got hot and bothered about perceived slating of emokind and didnt finish reading the sentence

LOL. Actually it was not needed nor does it change menaing. Your quoted sentence here is incorrect as well as it should be either a fullstop or a semi-colon and not a comma.

Incidentally "more clearer". WTF is "more clearer", that's not even bad English; it is appalling English.

Just asked two of the people in my English Language class and yes they have confirmed there is a difference.

Did you show her the entire sentence? or just the start? because as a full sentence, it makes no sense..

It is the positioning of the "all" and the "that" which give the sentence its unique meaning and I think that when reading through it your mind switched their order around.

I think it is better with a comma but the last two have the same meaning.

Yes, technically, it needed a comma...but without one, it was still perfectly understandable. It made sense...but your way, it makes no sense at all when looking at the sentence as a whole..

I'm not denying the sentence made sense.

I'm saying the sentence had different meanings with and without the comma added. I do understand where you're coming from though and currently we're all in danger of ruining the thread.

And commas are there just so u can get a half breath in. They dont change the meaning of very many sentances and that wasnt one of them

Yes, you're wrong on two counts.
Firstly it doesn't "need" a comma but it is better with one than without.
The above sentence doesn't need a comma but would technically be correct if it had one. <---- so would that one lol.
However, neither change meaning without one.

Secondly you placed emphasis on the "ALL" and assumed the sentence meant "all emos ......" It is impossible to read it to mean that unless you switch the position of "all" and "that" around.

It is OK to make a mistake you know, you only look like a numpty when you try to prove you're not wrong when you knwo that you are wrong.

How is A level English these days? I did mine before you were born .... makes me feel old.

I am taking an A2 exam in English Literature next week. I always knew it was the harder option.
