auction site rage

still find it weird that people think I'm taking the rip.

why would I spend 120 quid to take the rip? and make the effort of taking pictures to post on here? for what exactly, ***** n giggles? pfft.

I posted on here for some advice on what to do and what people think about the situation.

Its a genuine case. I've posted exactly what has happened and exactly how its happened. It may sound sketchy to some people but I suppose that is their opinion and nothing I can do about it.

even I think its weird that this has happened as the guy has 100% feedback etc.

but as people have stated on here that the CPU that was sent to me isn't even a 4670k but maybe an older CPU. Now that's dodgy to me, and he sold the exact same thing a few days before.

Update: Still no reply back from the seller.

OCUK loves its "detectives" and posters getting busted I'm afraid. Anything slightly out of the ordinary will get some people implying stuff, hoping to unearth something, and thus becoming the next OCUK pin-up.

It's nothing personal, we don't know you. It's just that your story and recollection of events has so far been suspect, and from experience with some of us, when stuff doesn't add up like this there's usually a good reason why.

You just can't help yourself can you?

Its just the other side of the story. Give him a break

No it isn't, it's attacking the OP, the is no other side ot the story, not unless the seller shows up here.

I don't get why people are always so hostile on this forum, there's always al least one person attacking the OPs, playing devil's advocate when it isn't needed or wanted >.>

It isn't attacking the OP. It's as simple as I've said, the OP's story doesn't add up, and people are noticing this and pointing it out.

I hope the OP is being truthful, it's just a very strange story that doesn't make sense.

Looks fine to me

OP ordered something off eBay, parcel turned up, parcel was full of broken bits that weren't even what he ordered, OP gave parcel back to positie, OP has informed eBay of what's happened and smells a scam.

I agree some parts did seem strange. However, I think the OP explained them all sufficiently, and now it seems to me he's the victim of some amazingly inept scam. I think you did your due diligence and should let it play out now :)

Personally, I'm fascinated. Can't wait to see if any more info comes out of this!

Because it's just me right? Why don't you go and whinge somewhere else, instead of yet again pretending I'm the only one saying or doing something.

Unless he's extremely bored or wants some extra attention, why find two related EBay posts, wrap up some old PC components after he's smashed them up and post it on a forum?

That is what doesn't add up, nothing else.

Little update: Still no reply back today, so only a few days to go before I can ask Ebay to step in.

Getting annoyed though as I just want to move on from my wee G3258 lol.

I am sorry if my posts or the information I have provided seem sketchy or doesn't add up to some people. However I am telling the truth and haven't spent hours planning this whole thing lol I aint got no time for that.

Also thanks to those backing me up, highly appreciated :)

One of three things has happened here, and we have no real evidence as to which...

1) Seller is trying insurance scam. Sent an old broken CPU with all markings removed, and trashed it.
2) Man in the middle nicked CPU and replaced it with a broken one (probably the least likely)
3) OP bought a perfectly working CPU from seller and is trying to scam the seller by fabricating "evidence" that it was the wrong CPU and deliberately damaged.

The only question then is whether it was poo before it entered the letterbox or afterwards?

Don't worry, I had a witch hunt versus me on here....

I sold a graphics card labelled as new (because I RMA'd my broken one and got a new one). The seller tried to open a case saying it was used and to half the price lmao. In all fairness it didn't have a box, but card was still wrapped and well... you can kind of tell when electronics are new. They smell great :D

Witch hunters went through my posts like OH WE SEE YUV PURCHAZED THAT CARD 8 MONTHS AGO? PITCHFORKS EVERYONE!!11 I argued till I was blue in the face with this forum that it was an RMA card and new...

I don't see what OP would have to gain from making a post like this either? if you are going to scam a seller you don't post it on the internet.

In all likelihood I believe the seller is probably trying to commit postage fraud or defraud the buyer here, so he receives it back and claims to ebay the buyer switcher it or they damaged it in the post. It's definitely one of the two. But generally ebay side with buyers so my assumption is he's trying postage fraud.

Then you haven't read the whole thread of processed everything.

I think you did it. Filthy little scammer! ;)

No, that's not been my point.

Please. Do continue.

Ah I see you're still doing that.

Detective spoffle is on the case.

I'm not saying that the OP has done something, I'm simply saying his story doesn't make sense.

The first thing that was suspect was the thermal paste on the heat spreader, it looked like it was a fresh drop, thermal paste gets everywhere very quickly, yet it looked like a freshly applied drop in the first images.

The fact that he was able to open it all up, and take multiple photos whilst rearranging the contents, not getting thermal paste all over the place, and then get it all back out to the post man, is the second suspect part.

The third is that the post man even took it from him, open like it was, with everything utterly smashed up, then admitted that it was okay because it hadn't been signed for.

The fourth dodgy part is that it hadn't been signed for, they do sometimes do this, but it's very rare, they shouldn't do it and along side everything else, makes it look worse.

The fifth dodgy part is that he now has it back, because the sorting office wanted to give him it back, and then the close up images of the RAM to accentuate the damage, that have clearly been scored with a blade.

So as I said, it doesn't add up or make sense.
