Audi A1

Hi,

I am considering getting one of these on lease but as the waiting list seems long i may wait for the 5 door released early next year. I have test driven the Sline 1.4 Stronic and was very impressed with it's handling and interior, it felt like a bigger car

Anyone else have experience of the A1

It's probably better than a lot of cars that size, but it's surely a car for females only.

Just sat in one as a passenger, don't know what model it was. I would describe the experience pleasantly surprised.

old mans got one, i think its pants. Long waiting list? he wanted one quick and was give a list of loads of unsold cars in the country

Do i imagine it, or are they about the same size as an A3?

I kinda like them. Especially the 1.4 TFSI. 182BHP seems like a lot of fun with the economy of a 1.4. 7 speed s-tronic sounds cool too.

I loved the one I had as a courtesy car, t'was the 182PS S-Tronic and was incredibly fun to drive.

I too thought it felt (both in terms of build quality and ride) like a much larger car. If I could afford one I'd be getting one for the girlfriend in a heartbeat.

Yeah the 1.4 is a fanastic engine. Got the same in my Ibiza Cupra.

TBH I'd go with the Polo over the A1 unless you are made of money. The Polo still has the refined, "classy" image without the lolpricetag.

Nah, I'd go with the A1 every time, the interior quality and the added "toys" you get in the A1 make it justifyable IMO.

I had a look at one of these recently. Quality small car IMHO.
I'd rather have one of these over a BINI!

I think we will have to agree to disagree.

I have outlined my opinion of the A1 in many threads before this.

Higher price and less spec than its platform sharing rivals. Hell in the 1.4 TFSI you have to pay to have DSG paddles!

For an equivilant spec A1 compared to my Ibiza cupra.

A1 - £25,230 OTR
Ibiza Cupra - £19,715 OTR

Personally I know which one I would take (and have done so

I wouldn't be paying £25k for one however lol! Some people are badge snobs however and won't care.

IMHO the Audi interior quality is better than the Seat. When I was looking for a new car, I drove to almost identically specced cars.

A A3 Black Edition & a Leon FR+

Although practically identical the drive the Audi was the nicer place to be.

This is true.

Just depends how much extra you are willing to pay for nearly the same thing.
