What's the interior quality like in the Seat? I've always found them to be a bit lol worthy vs competing Audi / VW, but i've not been in the newest stuff.

Sounds ok, purely for curiosity sake I’ve been meaning to take a look at the A1 and Ibiza see how things have moved on in the supermini race.
I'm not overtly keen on the chav pattern inside the GTI

Thanks Guys, but i mentioned i am only looking to lease for 2 years, so what is there to compare something else in the same category of finish and refinement ?

There is a definate order to things.
I've been in all the mainstream VAG marque's and have found the interior quality to go something like this:-
Skoda - Seat - VW - Audi
This is on like for like models so:-
Octavia - Leon - Golf - A4
I would probably go as far as to say the Skoda & Seat interiors are on a par but the Seat seems slightly more stylish to me.
However I have been in a well specced Superb and the interior was better than my Passat. I guess this would be like comparing a VW Phaeton to an Audi A6 though.
Whilst I agree with the above, the people from the Czech Republic do screw the Skodas together with care and pride. The parts are the same but are they built the same? I personally think Skoda > Seat here.

The guys on that new advert for the Fabia VRS look pretty full of pride to me.
I think we will have to agree to disagree.
I have outlined my opinion of the A1 in many threads before this.
Higher price and less spec than its platform sharing rivals. Hell in the 1.4 TFSI you have to pay to have DSG paddles!
For an equivilant spec A1 compared to my Ibiza cupra.
A1 - £25,230 OTR
Ibiza Cupra - £19,715 OTR
Personally I know which one I would take (and have done so).

The paddles are only £95 and can quite easily be "thrown in" but I do agree that the 185 should come with them as standard.
One of the critical reasons I bought my A1 185 (S Line S Tronic etc) was for the Lumbar support on both the driver and passengers seat. Unless anything has changed this isn't an option at all on any of the other models that share the same platform.
The price is relatively high (especially once you start on the options) but then the quality of the end product is also much higher than its direct contempories. The A1 interior is a marked improvement over the Polo (especially in the materials used), a large improvement over the Seat (main dash area and especially the doors) and the less said about the woeful interior on the vRS the better (seriously who designed the interior on the Fabia?).
Oh I have an extra 5PS as well and my car looks like Darth Vaders helmet
One point for the op - If you do go for one try to aim for the A1 1.4TFSI (122) Sport S Tronic with connectivity pack* and Xenons. You get the best engine / gearbox combo south of the 185 and plenty of kit to keep you happy. The Xenons also finish off the front end and are a lot better than the standard headlights.
*This gives you: Bluetooth, Sat Nav Prep, AMI, steering wheel buttons, voice control and an extra SD card reader for the MMI (6.5" colour display).

The 1.4 TFSI costs just under £38k over here...![]()
WowAny evidence to back up the "pride" build quality argument?
Thought not![]()
