Audi owners in here!

Is oil consumption an issue on the S3? I hear some people have to use about 1L per 1000 miles in some VAG cars, which is just terrible. Considering my Fiesta ST never looses a drop!

Mine seems to use a tiny bit, nothing too worrying...but I frequently change the oil so I haven't really noticed.

Does anyone have an A1 TDI?

I am looking to sell my Polo 1.9TDI 9N to something similar MPG wise (50 approx) on my 35 mile round trip to work. Were the A1s in the diesel-gate scandal at all?

I still don't understand why people in the UK care about the diesel gate scandal. It was all about passing us tests which were different.

Didn't they still deceive the UK buyers though? There is an ongoing court case in the UK.

Which would be a lovely position to be in, but even then it's irrelevant, as the only real "cheat" was emissions, not economy (or at least, no more than any other manufacturer "cheats" the economy tests). Economy was always fantastic in my A4, even after the so-called "fix" for the "scandal".

These days I try not to look at the economy figures of the car, because I'd cry!

If a company has been taking their customers for granted on the scale of these companies with this issue, they need their asses handed to them. I don't support any company who is happy to pull the wool over it's customer eyes or worse, blatantly lie and they need to be owned legally and their board fired. Doesn't change the fact I don't look at the numbers :)

My 57 plate A4 2.0TFSI Special Ed is getting old, was MOTed on friday and had a good look around while it was on the ramps and I'm thinking after 8 years of faithful service its time to say goodbye before next years service comes along and wants a timing belt and other expensive stuff.

Took the wife around the usual suspects yesterday, BMW, Merc, Jag and Audi. before we got there she was giving me the "we need a SUV for when we have kids", after looking at GLC's, F Paces and X5s to pop into Audi to look at Q5s, which they didnt have one of the showroom floor only a SQ3. After her getting all excited looking at the R8, TT and RS7 she clocked me sat in the New S5 Coupe, She likes it and after a chat on the way home she has decided that SUVs arent the way forward anymore (THANK YOU GOD).

So i sent lastnigth playing with the configurator and have come up with a spec I like and at a price and can easily cover on a PCP.

Lastime i bought my PCP out for cash after 2 of the 3 years. This time its going to have quite a huge Final payment though, anyone got any idea how much deposit is typically left in the car when you swap it out after 3 years?

figured it was a long shot, but with some guys in the motor industry and some petrol heads I figured it was worth asking.

I'm in the Emirates for 2 months come Friday, so I'll see if any of my Arab buddies have picked one up. Already lined up a test drive in the new Bugatti. The old one was a beast, so I have high hopes!
