Offered £1k where? Also what model is it?

Decent 225s go for a minimum of £2k, a £1k one would be rough. Obviously 180s are worth less, and 150s are less again. Coupé or Roadster seem to command the same values regardless. V6s tend to sell for similar to 225s. The only high-value TT MK1s are the QS.
 
I had a high-mileage '07 8P S3 a few years ago so know them well, but that was a manual. How solid is the S-Tronic in these? I'm getting bored with my Golf..
Also looking at 8P RS3s but they're almost 8V S3 money. Same gearbox? Different gearbox? More reliable?

Anyone on how reliable the S-Tronic on a 2010 S3 is?
 
I tried that as a first resort but to no avail, then I realised I'd only removed it from the MMI, not the phone before re-pairing. I'll try that later.

I got a 500Bhp 8P RS3, and the gearbox is sublime, gearbox is really good on it, as long as you look after it, doing regular oil and filters etc.
My DSG has been mapped also which increased the clamping pressures to be able to withstand higher torque.
 
Looking at S1s again. How on earth does the 230bhp and much lighter S1 emit more carbon dioxides than an S3 or Golf R?
The Golf GTI (which has the same engine surely?) emits even less!

Or did VW cheat the system?

S1: 166g/km
S3: 159 g/km
R: 159 g/km
GTI: 149 g/km (give or take)

My mk2 TTS clutch feels the same. Slips at 4k rpm+ in 4th but it doesn't get driven that hard normally so I'm just living with it for now.

I do have the occasional issue with the LEDs on the temp/fuel gauge needle not working though...

Yeah I heard about that. Same for the S3. There's one for sale near me that has a map to 300 and a Sachs clutch, but I'd rather not buy someone else's project..
If I do get one, I can just wait for the clutch to fail and then do it myself...

I do quite like the ease of having an auto, but S3s are still a little over budget as I need to be a little bit sensible with cost.
 
Anyone know of any decent sites to check audi part numbers, had another coming together with a pheasent this morning and this one managed to damage one of the lower grills on the TT :(
Need to check a few years to ensure its the same part number before I look to replace (pre facelift Mk3). Will need to check in a bit more depth at the weekend before i do anything just in case its more than a think, but for now it looks like the grills just clip in and its semi popped out, but with a bit busted off

Also if anyone knows of any specialised Audi breakers before I start having to try to deal with various scrap yards

Bloody birds this time of year keep running around on a wooded section I have to drive through, there must be 10 dead on that stretch, local foxes must the size of horses as they seem to hoover most of the birds up daily, then next day a new batch of bodies and feathers are scattered around.
I hate the clocks changing, but at least it means on the way home its dark so the idiotic birds aren't all doing terrible road runner impressions at dusk
 
Of all the Audi’s I’ve owned, I probably miss the S1 the most to be honest. Stock it was plenty quick enough to be fun, but with the Revo remap it was utterly silly at times, properly quick for something the size of a shoe.

Absolutely right about the clutch though, mine went within 4000 miles of having it remapped. I did drive it pretty hard though to be fair.

If you do get it remapped, first thing you’ll want to do is put some better brakes on it, the stock brakes are just about decent enough for stock figures but are left wanting with that much more power.
