Audi owners in here!

Base model, no extra's and the lowest annual mileage you could have at 5k. Audi only heavily discount models on the way out such as the A4. After driving a A4 SE Technic Avant I can see why Audi need to bring in a new version...

Still dont get why anyone would choose to buy Any Audi upto the A7 (S3/S4/S6 exluded), they are uber dull, uber uninteresting and have quite an antiquated range of engines compared to their rivals.

Unless your forced to have one as a company chariot or a complete badge whore, they just dont cut it. I had high hopes for the A3 but after spending a weekend in one, its just another Audi I got out of saying, meh! And it was the same for the A6 and certainly the same for my Avant.

Down to a world of choice, thus you are also allowed to have your view or opinion as does anyone else...

Absolutely, and dont get me wrong, they arent a bad car car at all, its just as an enthusiast, as most of us are here, Audi just seem to miss the mark consistently.

Which mark would that be?

I know that the current A4 drives like a barge, because I had one, the Q3 I also drove is also uninspiring and lacks character. But the A3, saloon does have something and having come from a remapped 1.6 ecoboost Focus the handling is fairly close. Don't forget we are talking small/large family cars....

Did they say why it takes 3 weeks to get from the docks?! Hope this doesn't happen with my TT!

No, just the phone call said your car has arrived at the docks in Grimsby, so I will be in touch in 2 to 3 weeks. I didn't press the question as I was just heading into a meeting.

Edit: just to let you know, I wasn't expecting to take delivery until March anyway.

Ah ok, mine's due end of march, so I'm guessing it should be arriving to the docks by the end of this month.

I have decided to be a bit frugal and just get a low mileage 2007/8 (8p2) 170 tdi S-Line.

My problem is that due to living in cornwall and needing s-tronic (due to height) my only real option considering I can't sell my 8p 140 privately is to trade it in...and as none are for sale within 200miles, my only option is to go through the Audi Approved AUC, find one, get them to transport it to Plymouth, and then trade mine in there.

Only...there is just one on AUC at the moment, no heated seats, no arm rest, no cruise control, the worst Bose stereo (single din) not even full leather, and high mileage! Oh and it is a 140 and not a 170.

So I have to wait :/ When I buy it I will de-dpf and egr it combined with a full remap, apparently this puts it at around 230hp???

It's only a visual inspection to start with so lots of companys now cut them in half, gut them and reweld them back together so it looks like it's still fitted. However I'd guess, in the same way that they eventually brought in emissions testing for a diesel to test for your CAT's operation, they'll find a way to test a DPF somehow (even though it's not really an emissions thing).

I got quoted £150 to gut the DPF and reweld. £425 for the remap (performance remap + dpf delete + egr delete). No idea what is involved in the physical aspects of removing EGR?

Removing the EGR itself, all the pipework and potentially the EGR cooler too and blanking off any holes left over. Did it on my Mondeo however just blanking the EGR made a noticeable difference with the turbo coming onto boost earlier and with less throttle (shown on a dyno plot so not just my guesswork).
