Audi RS5

I would not pay that amount for an RS5 but if you want to waft in the snow then get the range topping A5 3.0TDI.

Why would he want a 240bhp diesel when he quite obviously has the income to support the car with more than twice the power and a proper engine?

He has a Ferrari for a proper sports car. But maybe the 4.2 V8 in the S5 rather than the RS5. Hmm I should have thought this through abit.

Have you looked Audi RS3 Sportback? Might be better option, lighter than the RS5, and cheaper. :)
We already have an S3 Sportback. What a lot of fun that car is. Just fancy something bigger and more comfortable with even more performance.

Good car the RS5, nowt wrong with it and it'll be ideal for what you want if the rear seats are big enough. Sure you can have an M3 or a C63 if you want more speed or a sharper car but why do you need that, all 3 are faster than you'll use most of the time and none of them are close to dogs, not even in the same country as a dog. Like me you want something rapid, smart, quick in all conditions and simply does what it says on the tin. In bad conditions on a twisty road neither the M3 or C63 will stay with an RS5 and no matter what Evo or Autocar might say about their merits they'd agree with that I think, certainly go quickly with far less effort that's for sure. Panamera is epic, really fabulous and couple of mates I know who run them are full of praise for their ability but bugger me they look like a smacked arse and I like Porks.

RS5 is epic and even though I'd prefer a sharper car the fact is A to B in style is pretty good and a 599 is sharper than all of them so why worry about how the steering feels, use the weekend car for that.
Thank you for that. Right on my wavelength.

It has to be the RS5 then - many of the 'flaws' people identify with an RS5 are present in the rest of the Audi range, the fact your S3 is something you find a lot of fun means they are not flaws you either notice nor care about :)

There isn't really such thing as a poor £70k Coupe - only different degrees of excellence.

Yes those exhausts make all the difference. :D

OM NOM NOM

Just had another look at the BMW Swissland brochure http://www.bmw.ch/ch/de/newvehicles/5series/_shared/pdf/BMW_5er_Limousine_d.pdf and the 550i xDrive is the only one listed with xDrive.. no dirty diseasels! What a shame :p, 400BHP / 442 lb-ft of twin turbo V8 goodness it'd have to be then .

RS5 has 450BHP at 8,250RPM although its normally aspirated engine has less torque than the 550i.

Have a play with the spec here
