Audi S4 Quattro...

I think an M5 would be out of your price range, you're looking at over £14k for a good one really.

Why not go hunting for a M535?

How about a Merc S500? You can get an 01 model with sat nav and all the usual goodies, including the 5.0 V8 for about £12k if you can stretch to that

Not quite as special as many people think - it is NOT an M5. It is simply an E28 535i with M-tech suspension and suchlike. Pretty much the 80's equivilent of an E39 530i Sport or an E60 530i M Sport.

Nice, but no M5. And not worth spending anywhere NEAR £10k on - try £2k, tops.

Drives the wrong wheels anyways, i would be better off getting a 740 and fitting the T5 engine to that :p

...Or just get a turbo one and tune the existing lump :)

If M535s have been mentioned, may I throw the M635csi into the ring?

bit of a random one but why not keep it in the family and get a mazda cosmo, twin turbo'd rotary power baby :D

That mazda looks kinda boat like :p

M635csi is retro cool for sure, two schools of thought are newer car like the S4 leave it alone for a while, or older cheaper car and do that up, so thats volvo 740 / BMW, a project would be nice but the car i got out of it wouldn't really fit my overall needs.

there's definitely something freudian going on here.
it's no coincidence that a pic of a Rotary powered Mazda has in the background a restaurant who's name is only a "gnats" away from saying "new engine".

may as well say "powered by Cadburys" as they may as well be made of chocolate.too juicy, too specialist, not reliable enough and definitely not durable enough IMHO.

If a project be you after, a nice E30 would be my choice :p
