App was pinging again so had another look out, so it's now bright enough to light up the sky, camera still does better of the detail.

Quite a bit of light pollution round where we are, but definitely visible. Camera picked up more of a contrast. Nice to have seen, but would still like to go to the arctic to do it properly. Some really great pictures going around WhatsApp at the moment.

Just before 10pm, best thing was having my 2 girls outside with me seeing it, it was so vivid even without using a camera

Can see purple glow and abit of green right now in Hertfordshire come out ok on the phone shot but cant see much from the naked eye apart from the purple glow.

Really intense here in Northumberland. Bright even to the naked eye.
