Australian GP 2009 - Race 1/17 (NOT in HD BTW)

It's the 3 diffuser teams in the top 6 places! Obviously does make quite a difference.

That's fair enough to be honest. My take on it is F1 is about pushing the boundaries, these 3 teams have pushed the boundaries and the teams that didn't design this into their car are just having sour grapes!

F1 is not stock car racing!!

1/2 a second a lap, they reckon :D. If the other teams are idiots that's their fault. Better get those designers in on overtime,.
f1 is all about understanding the rules and doing no more than they have to.

It's great to see button back up the front end. But 17th and 18th for McLaren

I thought the 0.5 seconds a lap quoted was quite optomistic, obviously not.:p

I love the cars, last years look terrible now I look back.

I think the more you look at them the better they look. Months of looking just makes them better. Mind you, as soon as I saw the first 09 cars I thought they looked fantastic.

These aren't going to grow on me. Those front wings look like snow ploughs and those rear ones look like they've got dwarf syndrome. What makes it so bad is both on the same car. if they were both really wide or both skinny. It would probably look fine.

Going to have to agree to disagree here :)

They look cleaner, more like racing cars of old, the front wings just look mean :D

The old front wings were over-elaborate and looked all delicate and poncy.

Not sure on the wings, the lack of winglets and the fact that all of the cars have taken different approaches is good, especially the nose, the renault for example is low and fat, the toyota is higher and much narrower...

Anyway, another session and another weird set of results, I expected Ferrari, BMW and Renault to be higher up but again I guess we won't see properly until qualifying, still not looking good at all for McLaren though, at least that's constant :p

Coverage is good though, just the commentary for practice is enough to make me happy so far :)

And to bed, I must be mad to stay up until 7am ¬_¬

I cant believe that so many people was up in the early hours and posted in here. It was only 7 pages long when I went to bed. Havn't you all got jobs :p

Anyway, Ive got channel 302 on atm. Practice re-run. Think its session 1.

Anyone got the times from P1? Is P2 live now?

The times done by the McLarens in the second practise were shocking. They finished 17th and 18th. As of yet, Hamilton hasnt put in a fast time. He struggled in first practise and was slow in 2nd practise.

Nico Rosberg has topped the time sheets of both practise sessions. Perhaps Williams are going to dominate?

The BrawnGP team (in particular Barrichello) are consistently near the front.

3 -5 in the 2nd session 0.025 seconds and "pole" to fifth 3 tenths - thats pretty close if you ask me

Really not looking good for McLaren - admittedly Heikki is reasonably up there, but he hasnt been able to do full races at consistant speed to worry most of the field and LH just hasnt seemingly got the car under him yet

Come on Brawn, stay up in the leading pack

whats happened to quali / fuel levels - is it back to low fuel runs, or are we still full loads for first stint?

Also, a litle heads-up if you've not spotted it already, there's an F1 preview listed on 302, 6:30pm-8pm this evening and repeated a bit later.

just catching the end of practice, what are them things that go around the front wheel and over the wheel nut??

and as for looks i like the new look, the front wing looks very mean.
