Australian GP 2009 - Race 1/17 (NOT in HD BTW)

Some teams maybe but not all, by the sounds of it Ferrari would have to totally redesign the entire rear end of the car. As things like suspension and gearbox would need altering.

ferrari and mclaren can throw so much money at it, im sure they will improve before the next race weekend.

Problem is lack of testing. Suppose it depends where they come in this race. If they end up not scoring but finishing. Then they might as well go for bust.

Yeah if the McLaren's as bad as testing showed in the race then they probably will pull something out the hat. The guy commentating on 1st practice mentioned that some of the other teams (non contriversial ones) may have new versions of the diffuser if needs be.

I would be supprised to see any other team slap one on in mallasia next weekend (or over night for p3/qualli) as its a pretty key component to the car....

Im thinking Red Bull's crazy rear suspension could either really hinder them in a quick re-design or help them massivly, if they feel the need to try out a new deffuser design

Haven't really looked at the Red Bull's suspension - how is it so special?

I think CS||Nuts gave the impression it wasn't a problem at all in either this thread or the dev thread.

I think it is Red Bull that need to redesign their whole car because they use a different suspension compared to the others.
I wasn't aware that ferrari would need a complete redesign too

Of course, if the shoe were on the other foot and Renault had a technical advantage he'd natually do the same wouldn't he?

;)

Haha, remember the mass dampers that helped alonso to a couple of titles... dont remember him telling everyon about that one :p

Anyway http://www.thescuderia.net/forums/showthread.php?t=23705&page=3 top post has a picture of the rear suspension on the red bull, its constructed differently so the rods holding it in place are much lower allowing for better airflow to the rear wing

"Dark coloured kettles are usually black" says pot.

I know its only speculation, but is this apparent turn around of the ner'do wells actually going to last or is it a case of new season shuffle. Normal serivce will be resumed in Europe?

Watching the bbc site, a colleague saw the brawnGP car and said "God, how ulgy" I only just managed not to hit him. :)

Hahaha, yeah the BrawnGP is quite striking with the flouresent colours.... :D I really like the shape of the car as well.

I think the new order could last, though the bigger teams may try and spend their way up the order. Mainly as some of the best performing cars ahve been developed for over a year now (Brawn for example) and should have good pace all season....

Just a bit of speculation though for now

Guys , i've not really looked into BBC F1 times yet etc! and doing 9-6pm on Sat is pants!

any idea if the FULL coverage will be on Iplayer & will it be re-run?

I'm looking forward to Sundays race in particular. It would appear that with very little warning or even asking me (the bread winner, home owner etc) my inlaws are inflicting themselves on me this weekend.

They have to sleep in the front room on a blow up and I will relish waking them all up and making them watch the race :)
