Australian Grand Prix 2010, Melbourne - Race 2/19

Pedalo De La Rosa....

NUMPTY!

Nearly caused 3 large crashes that we saw and then missed the pit lane entry so ended up doing an extra lap after passing the chequered flag.

Ok... How the hell has Schumacher got away with setting the fastest lap at the time in Free Practice 1 under red flag conditions? Who is he sleeping with in the stewards office for that one?

Red Flag means Session stopped - proceed with caution to the pit lane or other designated area to stop.

NOT

Set the fastest lap of the session so far.

You almost sound surprised ;)

It should carry a harsh penalty but it won't, just like how hakkinen used to get away with setting fastest laps under waved yellows by taking one hand off the wheel.

I suppose I shouldn't be. Given the indicators on the steering wheel and the new electronic flags it should have been obvious even to an old guy like him - Red flag had been out for about 20-30 seconds... If his eyesight is that bad then the FIA know what to do. ;)

Wasn't it Raikkonen who just used to raise a hand and keep his foot down? Spa 2002 is the one I remember. Can't see through the smoke and there's also a broken car on the track in front of him.

Yeah I remember the Kimi one, he was hailed as brave. That got on my bits at the time because it was incredibly foolish. Plowing through smoke not lifting. Almost as dumb as Alonso when he tried to go faster and make time up under a safety car when webber crashed brazil 03.

Mika many times raised the hand under yellows and got away with it. It apparently showed although he was setting a faster time he was so in control of the car he could lift a hand off. Kimi continued that trend.

Shame that argument doesn't wash in court driving down the motorway on my mobile phone ;) (something I don't do)

Can anyone tell me where the links are for practice 1 and 2 on iplayer? I'm after the full re-runs which are usually available just after the event not the highlights.

The BBC site is truely rubbish. Why doesn't practice appear in the main iplayer site? Nothing is ever easy to find on there.

Thanks

I watched the re-run of FP1 this morning at 8am ish and just come back in but its still half way through FP1 again so hopefully FP2 will be on red button about 12.

Yeah it will be on at 12 or within a few minutes., they have been on constant repeat all night/mourning. one straight after the other.
