Australian Grand Prix 2010, Melbourne - Race 2/19

No I'm saying that what lesser drivers might see as lack of control is not a lack of control.
In order to pull off a perfect powerslide you need to be in more control off the car than just when you are turning normally, and for someone like Lewis that is not pushing the boundaries of what he can do

If it was a little chav in a Nova with a fat exhaust and a body kit slamming it sideways you'd probably be whinging like hell, but as it's Hamilton it's fine? I didn't realise different rules applied to famous drivers. Powersliding out of a junction is careless, doesn't matter who the hell you are.

On another note - Glock is 2/5 NOT to finish the race on Sunday. Unreliable car, and a fuel tank that won't last the distance? Hmm..

They need to get the boy a chauffeur driven car. He clearly can't keep his head when he's fresh out onto the road after the track.

This would make a lot of sense. It wouldn't cost much either.

The corporate environment of McLaren is exactly the sort of team that would enforce this such a rule. And if it prevents a driver from making such errors, then its worth doing.

I know! I know there "no certainties in betting" but a car that physically will not run the race distance seems pretty certain to me

I'm pretty sure the car will finish the race with its existing fuel tank (with exception to reliability problems). They will simply run the engine a little leaner. No biggy.

Obviously doing the above is not ideal as it will force them to go slower than they would normally have gone, had fuel economy not been an issue.

Yep, but with the car being so far off the pace, how many times if he going to get lapped if they try and preserve fuel? The bet's "to be classified" so if he's outside 90% of the 58 laps (I assume it's 58, think it's always been that) you'd win also. Reliability's probably still an issue with them too. I'd LIKE to see him finish personally, however if I take the bet then obviously I wouldn't :p

For comparison - Di Grassi not to finish is 1/8. :o

Sorry but the use of the word "hoon" by officials such as Police is just hilarious :D

Bad luck Hamilton. Sounds like you got nabbed by a jobsworth - and I hear Oz is particularly bad for them!

It's not that there's loads of jobworths, just the fact that Australia are pretty strict on speed so forth, they even have 'anti hoon' laws :p. Which what Hamilton got his car impounded for.

The Hamilton driving like a tit incident is highly amusing, I do agree with the guy saying that someone with Hamilton's skill it wasn't exactly unsafe, but it's a public road so he gets what he deserves :p

Bit hard to tell still, as always after testing, but looks like the McLarens are at least better than last time which is good :)

This may be the first F1 race since F1 was on always live that I may not watch live :(
Dissertation is due in next week so I really should do work on it and not be up at 5am watching f1
