Australian Grand Prix 2011, Albert Park Circuit - Race 1/19

No disrespect to RB, but I hope someone else can compete with them during the race, as it doesnt even look like a clean fight for Quali (even Mark cant seem to get close to Vettel)

Glad to see McLaren are at least up there again with Lewis and Jenson pretty close to each other, Renault, Ferrari and Mercedes could all be pretty close or possibly better

Vettel 1s faster with his used Primes, than Hamilton who had new Options on :O

Whilst RBR do seem to be faster than everyone else using the primes I don't think they're a second clear of McLaren on them. :p

Fairly certain that particular lap Vettel had the options on.

Edit: Oh did he? I was busy tweeting so missed the change over then ;)

Vettel was 0.6s faster than anyone in the last sector alone.

RBR - easy second if not more a lap faster than the rest of the field, possibly pushing that front wing to hard, Vettle broke his, although you never know could have hit something, or been a fluke.
Mclaren - big surprise seem to be comfortable 2nd team.
Mercedes - as suspected very strong car
ferrari - what has happened there, where's the speed gone and what happened to the top mounted camera, it just fell off.
Renault - wing to close to the floor and hits the kerbs.
Virgin/HRT - look safe all teams have agreed to let them race despite 107% rule, so unless a team changes their mind.

Red Bull looking formidable.

Can someone confirm what time the actual qualifying session starts? Is it 6:00 AM?

Looks like the concerns from yesterday have proved accurate, in that the tyre colouring, is nearly impossible to see at most angles..

As to the ongoing saga of bendywings.. well, only a few years ago, certain people were crying about brawn diffusers and how though the rules didn't prohibit them, they were 'against the spirit of the rules', I suppose turnabout is fair play.

I just hope that redbull don't totally dominate proceedings, or it will become a very tedious year indeed.

And somebody get rid of that hrt, its embarrassing.

Phew thought it was me, at speed the blur just doesnt help you identify the hue so for me its educated guesswork between Hard and Soft...

Its easier from cockpit view than outside the car though

ps3ud0
