Australian Grand Prix 2013, Melbourne - Race 1/19

Bacon has been bought, eggs to be picked up tomorrow.
Just need a bit of yeast and some bread flour now, then I'll be ready for the weekend. :)

Oh, and Jaffa Cakes.

Ooooh...and more freshly roasted coffee... :D

Haven't really followed testing all that much this year and not really that excited for the race. I am sure that will all change come Sunday tho. Button to win is my prediction.

Yes I am a fan of his.

Your making bacon bread topped with jaffa cakes?

On a serious note cheese and bacon bread is omnonononon I don't make it often though because I will eat the whole loaf in one day :(

I use a full pack of bacon as well its amazing how much flavour the bread has

Cheese and bacon bread sounds pretty damn amazing.

Think i'm going to have to stock up with some nice stuff myself before the weekend... Not long to go now :D

Can't wait to see where all the cars are at. Hoping for an exciting season. Need sleep though, so will probably sky+ this.

I can't wait for it to start now, hoping for a great season this year. I'll be watching it live, planning to get up about 10 minutes before the start, as I'll be watching on SkyGo.

I will make more of an effort this year to eat try the cuisine of the Country where the GP is being held (particular highlights are the Belgian GP and getting some nice Belgian waffles in) :p

For Australia I'm not so sure they have any real distinctive cuisine but a quick look on the interwebz I found this:

The Australian hamburger is, at its simplest, a fried beef patty, served with shredded lettuce and sliced tomato in a (usually toasted) bread roll. Tomato sauce (similar to ketchup but made with less sugar with a more liquid texture) or barbecue sauce are almost always included. Beetroot, pineapple and fried onions are also extremely common additions. Other frequently-served hamburger options are bacon, a fried egg and cheese. US-style pickles are rarely included, except in burgers from the usual American chains.

So I might try something along those lines :D

As mentioned vegemite is iconic, and easy to get here, tam-tams also but harder to get here (easy online I'd imagine).

Then you have kangaroo (not as hard to get as you'd imagine) and of course, anything cooked on a barbecue (would be brave in march in the uk, but it's there).

If you go for a hamburger at least put the fried egg on it, you really can't say it's anything but a standard burger if you don't.

If I make it through the night watching Sebring then F1 food will be like an evening meal :).

I think I'm going to head out Saturday morning and grab some nom.

I did this a few years back. Got some kangaroo steaks, tim tam's and vegimite amongst other stuff.

Vegimite is the nastiest stuff I have ever tasted.

Throughout the year I also did goat and other various interesting meats.

"Which GP is it this weekend?"

"Korea."

Goat is bloody lovely, my favourite meat.

I'd choose Calamari for Australia, I had it near enough every day whilst out there :p

some interesting news slowly leaking out at my work(DHL ema), we still don't know the full story but it will come out it always does lol.
we handle the F1 flights from the uk to all races that the cars need to be flown too.
Saturday one of the guys was loading the cars that are on pallets with a forklift and instead of the forks going under the pallet it went under the car, because the cars are tied down to the pellet by the wheels when he lifted the car it broke its back, the car was one of the Caterhams we don't know which drivers it was yet.

i'll hopefully find out more over the next few days .
not a good start for them
