Australian Grand Prix 2014, Melbourne - Race 1/19

woke up 7 thinking the coverage started at 6.

Not too bothered seeing lotus' position such a shame.

Man I'm jealous of all this post quali/race stuff you guys get. Here in NZ, we get the FOA end credits and that's it straight after quali!

Tomorrow morning can't come soon enough.

I was going to go out for a long bike ride now, but that can wait now - I need some sleep :p

Im in work, babysitting the formula 1 drivers of the future. Been talking to the fitness guys, expect Mag to out quali Button most of the season they say....1 off pace is very quick but obviously JB has the experience and driving style for the races.

Was a great qualifying in the grandstand opposite the Red Bull pits. The Aussie crowd went nuts when Ricciardo got provisional pole, and they rather enjoyed Vettel crossing the line at the end of Q2 not getting in to Q3.

Was very cold and wet there, hopefully will dry up tomorrow for the race.

I'm expecting if it stays dry, it'll be a Rosberg/Hamilton or another Mercedes team winning.

I think the start is going to be very interesting, as I've been watching the drivers all do practice starts out of the pit lane, and none of them have been very consistent, and the Torro Rosso really struggles. Might be a couple of pileups if they can't get it consistent.

Red Bull may have to make a change to their car.

On the Red Bull nose camera, Charlie Whiting says it's legal but as it can't be rear facing, he will 'probably have to look at it' again..

Lets not get carried away now. He was behind him all the way through qualifying until Q3 when JB's lap got interrupted by a yellow. I've no doubt he's good, but I think the result flatters him more than perhaps it should.

Nonetheless that seems similar throughout, the inclement conditions have meant some funny positions to what dry paces each team has. Fairly sure the Renaults won't have the race pace the merc powered cars will have.

Marko blamed software for Vettel's performance.

As in his super speed engine maps didn't work? :p

It's good to see Red Bull no longer dominating by a country mile but with Adrian Newey at the team still there's still an air of inevitability that they will again eventually.

Just repeating what the gym guys have said to me, Personally I agree with you, that yellow very annoying.

Great quali session, actually jumped out of my seat when HAM got pole.

Loved being able to hear Alonso's tyre screech as he locked up into the first corner in Q1 I think it was, the quieter engines do have some benefits :p
