Dropped it thankfully.

This is such a strange race, some of the faster cars are have such poor driveability they can't get their power down. Random injury out of nowhere so one of the best cars/drivers isn't on the grid. Just a supremely strange day already.

EDIT:- I swear Hamilton does this to troll Rosberg, pulls a gap, then drops it back to 1.5seconds to put Rosberg in dirty air, then just as Rosberg thinks he can get the gap under a second, Hamilton just pulls away at ease. He did that several times last year... it's god damned hilarious. But it also shows that in general his race pace and ability to save fuel/tires and just go faster than Rosberg whenever he likes, he's the significantly better driver.

Yup, too few drivers, couple mistakes early on means people out of position and Renault cars seeming not good enough. I think one of the issues is the Renault guys all seem somewhat scared of how. Lotus who looked pretty damn reliable in testing crash not their fault and then a failure straight away also. We're missing several of the faster cars and the Renaults seem to be too conservative. They've had trouble with the driveability of either braking reliably into corners and putting their foot down out of corners so they are slow in and slow out... even against slower cars they are stuck behind them.

22 laps in, with 2 behind the safety car and the Mercedes cars have a 14s lead. (between Rosberg and Vettel)

0.7s/lap faster than everyone else.

Yup, pitstop crews all seem rusty as hell as well today. Vettel's pit stop wasn't brilliant, though just about okay, Kimi's was poor, Sainz was awful.

Vettel's pace after being released from Massa was very impressive though and he managed to come out way ahead after running on old vs new tires for a few laps.

Yup, I think longest was 20 or 21 laps. So far off the pace though, only thing more embarrassing than their pace is Perez's pace

His pace vs Hulk is a joke.

Nearly 30 laps on the soft tyres for the Mercs. That's a bit ridiculous. Should have been super softs and mediums.
