Australian Grand Prix 2015, Melbourne - Race 1/19

Have the pit crews forgotten how to pit crew over the winter?

Silly Kimi for going when they hadn't said he could.

Those unsafe release rules are super harsh. Presumably if they didn't tell Kimi to stop until get was out on track then he will get the double penalty.

Jesus, ridiculous, the pit thing went green for Kimi but the left rear guys never said go. So whoever did that is getting beaten up by Kimi. Kimi likely to get a penalty next race :(

Exactly not only has this race been absolutely been ruined by idiotic mistakes he's been screwed for the next race.

THey didn't say he couldn't, they gave him the green light on the overhead thing. They absolutely told him to go, the guy controlling the lights who told him to go was who screwed up as the left rear guys never made any indication they were done.

Raikkonen radio.
'Something broke'
'Ok, stop the car Kimi'
'Did you leave the wheel loose?'
'Unfortunately wheel was not tight'

Pretty shocking that when the left rear guys are waving their arms to indicate the tire wasn't on, past the first corner and after a fair distance both down the pit and down the straight no one had told him the tire wasn't safe. That itself is ridiculous, he should have literally instantly been told on radio to stop, he shouldn't have gotten 20 yards before stopping.

EDIT:- During a pitstop the guy on the pitwall should be facing the pit and watching for problems ready to instantly tell the driver to stop.. should never get out of the pit lane let alone have the driver radio in and say something broke after having gone several hundred metres at least.

20 cars entered.

2 didn't quality
1 driver withdrawn due to injury
1 engine went on the way to the grid
1 gearbox failed on the way to the grid
1 crashed on lap 1
1 retired with unknown issues on lap 1
1 engine failure on lap 33
1 wheel not fully tightened on lap 40

11 still running.

The only way to hit the team is to hit the driver.

Perhaps they should remove constructors points?

Actually that isn't a bad idea. I understand hitting the driver if the pit signal isn't green but in this instance it seems pretty harsh.

They talked about it before, but the problem is how many? 2 points to Manor is worth a lot more than to someone like Mercedes.
