Australian Grand Prix 2015, Melbourne - Race 1/19

Sauber signed a contract for Van der Garde to have a race seat in 2015
Sauber agreed a race seat for Sutil in 2015, although we don't know if a contract was signed.
Sauber then signed a contract for Ericson to have a race seat in 2015
Sauber then signed a contract for Nasr to have a race seat for for 2015

Sauber put Nasr and Ericson in the car.
Van der Garde took them to court in Switzerland and won
Van der Garde took them to court in Australia and won
Sauber appealed and lost
Sutil is taking them to court in Switzerland too

Basically they promised race seats to 4 drivers and signed contracts with at least 3 of them and only have 2 cars....

Haha, wow.. that is pretty embarassing for them. Mickey Mouse management as Sauber I guess.

I remember Ted asking GVdG about this waaaay back in one of his Notebook's last season, it's absolutely pathetic on all fronts that this has come to a head on the eve of the first race of a new season.

German media reporting what I heard earlier today, that @ManorF1Team might not be able to run due to software issues

Its got to be a genuine issue rather than them never intending to run as some places suggest. The deadline for them to join the grid was Bahrain or somewhere, so the only reason they would have for being in Australia is if they fully intended to compete. If they didn't they could have just stayed at home.

It is indeed VdG has said he has tried for a long time to get in touch with Sauber about this and they have simply ignored him, including after the first court case in Switzerland he tried again and was ignored.

I really cannot see any other option but ceasing equipment. Suaber are doing everything possible to delay everything so he can't drive and the courts aren't falling for Suabers tactics.
So two teams put before first practice?

Adam cooper saying time will run out to get a super license as Sauber still aren't trying to sort it.

How do you fail to get in touch with a Formula 1 team?

Did they just let the phone go to answerphone? :p

I love F1, so much so I have booked Friday the 13th off so that in a few hours I can watch fp1 and 2 live from my bed!

I just hope Virgin Media do not **** up my Sky Sports package that starts at midnight tonight :)

Maybe Suaber had hoped the whole "3 car teams" system came into play this season.... If it had they would have looked pretty good saying "we signed 3 drivers". Maybe we'll see a driver change in the pitstop. no more sub 3 second stops though....

Odd. Every where other than f1.com says 1:30am.
They must have their countdown wrong.

Count down is wrong, if you go to event time table it says 12:30 local time. Which would make the countdown 7:30 rather than 5hrs which it currently says.
