Australian Grand Prix 2015, Melbourne - Race 1/19

There seems to be a head in the sand attitude at Sauber. If the team fails because of this it will be entirely of their own doing.

Crofty suggested in P1 that Van der Garde had paid $8m up front when signing his contract too! Sauber are just running a big scam!

Teams put non race drivers in the car on Fridays all the time. I imagine they aren't strictly in contempt until tomorrow? Perhaps even lights out on Sunday?
 
Riccy engine replacement, though doesn't necessarily mean the engine is unfixable or anything just not working currently to the point where they want to try running it. Switch to a new one, fix the old one. Still pretty early to need to do that, Mclaren sound like they are preparing to replace Button's engine(during or after this session). Sauber issues, Marussia issues, Massa with reliability issues this weekend.

Magnussen won't have endeared himself to Ron any more with that crash.... unless it was the cars fault.
 
I think that chassis just likes walls.

I'm liking the new look graphics on the FOM feed. It's a shame Sky haven't updated theirs though as the the overlays look a bit jarring when they do them.
 
Well merc have stretched their advantage massively by the looks of it. Gap back two third was twice as big in fp1 compared to last year.

And fp2 was 5 tenths, and it's currently 7 tenths.

Cool. I think there slimmer again now on the Ferrari. With 2 teams coming up with the same idea at the same time I assume most of the rest of the grid will follow shortly.
