Australian Grand Prix 2016, Melbourne - Race 1/21

Button was eliminated because its impossible to do an in lap, change tyres, do an out lap and complete a lap in the time available. Seems fair...

Sainz, Ricciardo, Massa, Hulk, Bottas all did extra runs to get themselves out of the elimination zone..... but ignore that. Button was eliminated because he didn't put in a fast enough fast lap to get enough time for another chance.

The pinnacle of Motorsport.

A lottery.

I love that we've got rid of the last minute, desperate attempts to get through to the next session.
Excitement was over rated anyway.

See Hulkenburg eased off, if he kept going because he went ahead of Bottas it actually granted him time to get another lap in. It's all too much to keep up with.

Well Vettel is screwed for the race, 3rd in Q2, but he did loads more laps on those tyres he must start the race on, compared to Hamilton and Rosberg.

Really should have made drivers have to stay out until they are eliminated in each qaul session, if you retire before being eliminated you lose your time.

Hulk eliminated on an in lap.

Read what you just typed and realise how stupid that is, please.

If this was Q2 last year, Hulk went out, did another run and.... was too slow, so then would do an in lap, not go out again and be eliminated. What is your obsession with what he's doing at the time? He went out to do a faster lap, he did a faster lap, because other cars were doing faster laps also he wasn't fast enough and went out in Q2. If the multiple other cars hadn't also done faster laps Hulk wouldn't have been eliminated, they went out and went faster, so Hulk went out to try to go faster and he failed, nothing more or less.

This whole thing just seems rushed, where's all the numbers and graphics to show where the cars are in relation to the countdown.

If you're going to change the rules, then do it properly. This is an absolute shambles.

Not a single car on track. Q2 is over 2 minutes from the end of the session.

All those teams did two runs, that is all they'd do in Q2 last year. They did their run EARLIER rather than right at the end, that is what is getting your goat... can you not realise how daft that is.

So last year cars went out, came in and sat still for 5 mins then went out at the end, this year they did a lap, came in and went straight back out rather than wait. But you think this is a monumental difference, really?
