Hamilton looking a lot happier than I expected.
I'm not saying this to troll, as I was a massive F1 fan back in the day.....but....
From this first race, does it look like F1 is still the same? ie. boring procession of cars, dictated by the strongest, with any actual racing hampered by tyre strategies? Was there any actual racing? Not overtakes in the pits etc
I doubt it. Whoever had race position would have kept it.
Could Hammy have been any more stroppy? Seriously tyres not working and he is setting competitive times!
Makes you question the intelligence of those in charge of the rules when us at home can see that making the cars (that already rely too much on downforce which makes them harder to get close to the car infront and overtake) produce even more downforce and grip and expect the racing to be better. Also, anyone else really surprised by the fact that the cars can't really overtake in this spec? Increased wake and larger wings... can't follow closely, more lost downforce.
So it was simply a case of Merc getting the call wrong on the pitstop. They could have left Hamilton out for longer and brought him out of the pit stop into clean air.
I think so. Although, to be fair, they clearly thought he could pass Verstappen with DRS. I guess teams will learn for next time that these cars just can't pass.

Make the cars shorter and narrower. Limit the aero. .
lets make them all drive Formula Fords then

He's such a baby, always whining or complaining or blaming someone else, even when he's doing well. No doubts he's a great driver but seems like a tool.
Did you see him on the podium or his post-race interview? No whining, no complaining and he said that it was his choice to pit when he did.
