Australian masterchef

Just watched the Opera House challenge at Jason Statham's I mean, Guillaume Brahimi's restaurant. Another classic Masterchef episode.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Kylie's gone :( I felt so bad for her when it turned out she'd messed her dish up. And it wasn't even like she could do anything about it, unlike if she was on mains/starters and cooking things to order.

Well that's it for another year. They weren't the 2 I thought should have been in the final, but well done to the winner anyway, showed significant improvement through the competition to be fair, was a bit surprised at how well the last round went :)

Good ending, he stormed it.
This happens so often, the people who come in good. Just ten not to devlop a much and in the final week start being over taken.

Can't believe she got such high votes for that lamb.

Great series, I had a feeling someone like Andy would go pretty far but didn't think he'd end up winning it, certainly one of the most improved cooks throughout he was like a sponge. Congrats to him... Roll on next year :p

Will be watching the All Stars tonight to see what that is like :D

Hmm, shame Adam couldn't make it due to other commitments!

Ok, so it's nice to see Hayden, Marion, Jonathan, Lego Man (Dani), Justine, Callum and Kate back. Oh and everyone's favourite tortoise Kumar.

Unfortunately also back are Julie (still annoying), Poh (something scary about her), and arrrrrghhhhhh Aaron. He's still all talk and just rubbish. What's he doing on 'All Stars'?!

Chris I have no opinion on really, except take your hat off dude.

Did you make a croquembouche?! If so, awesome!

Yeah, last Christmas. It collapsed into a pile. Kitchen to hot. Caramel just sucked water out of the air and went gloppy.
Several of us tried.

Before it collapsed into a broken mess

Just for you.

By no means is it great but I'm pretty happy. If I can get it out and it stands up. Now a pro at making caramel each batch got better and better. Run out of time now, wanted to do so much more yesterday but had to fix parents comp, so didn't get home till late afternoon. Don't think I'll get time to do spun sugar, but I know I can do it know, made enough by accident.

Really want to make this again, need to master piping bag, so they are all neat and same size and smaller.

Iirc one person managed it, the rest of us failed.

Ah good effort anyway! Maybe another attempt this year? I've always thought this would be a dinner party showstopper (if I was to ever hold a dinner party), even though the idea of a tower of profiteroles doesn't really appeal to me.

I've done a Christmas dinner party every year for about 6years now, not sure I can afford it this year. Just spent so much money this year.

So many memories seeing some of them come back (sad as that is :o) forgot all about Marion, she was class in that year, didn't she beat that chef from Quay at his own dish?

I liked Chris, his idea for what he wanted to do if he won is still probably my favourite one.

Love Dani and her scrunchy face when she smiles.

Overall really enjoyed it, seems quite fun. It's a bit of a shame it's only going to be on 3 weeks.

Yeah, last Christmas...

Good effort though mate, not something I would even attempt to make :p

All Stars is proving to be pretty good fun so far, a lot more light hearted with no one really losing out...

Firefighter 'snag' episode was packed with a hell of a lot of innuendo :D

Yeah is good......wanting / waiting for the Danni, Justine and Kylie all stars team....in bikinis :cool::cool:

Had forgotten just how slow Kumar really is.......I think a glacier that is on a go-slow would move quicker than him.

Have absolutely no idea who the 2010 team members are as completely missed that series as was away chasing pirates off Africa while it was on. Not too keen on top-know bloke and the one they have chosen as the captain (Callum ???) seems like he is a few snags short of a barbie / dim.

Do like the light hearted banter they are having, it does seem like they are genuinely having a good time and get along.

Haha. He was actually pretty damn good, made the final 10 (can't remember where), and was good enough that one of the chefs offered him an apprenticeship.

Just thought who a couple of them remind me of. Dani = Elaine from Seinfeld. Chris = John Belushi from Blues Brothers.

Callum came runner up to Adam, and it was George who gave him a job in his restaurant.

I'm enjoying All Stars so far, it amuses me how terrified they all seem to be about cooking in that particular kitchen and then presenting to the judges.

Last night made me want to scream though...
Poh and Justine have to remake a Matt Moran dish, Chris has to remake an Adriano Zumbo dish, and Julie has to remake her own dish that amounted to a tart case with some mousse and ganache in it? Really?!!

Am I the only one that thinks that seems massively biased towards Julie winning? At times I feel like they're almost trying to justify her winning the first season because watching her again makes me seriously question how it ever happened.
Tonight's episode looks manic with how busy the kitchen is, should be interesting.

I know what you mean with Julie, find my slef sitting there sometimes wondering how the hell she won.

That was a good one...

Loved the 12 chef thing, was a really good Ep. Kind of wished they'd of made it a little bit longer though so they could have shown more of the chefs and match ups, they glossed over a fair few of them.

Throughout the first series Julie was referred to in our household as **** plates. Everything she put up just looked a mess
