Austrian Grand Prix 2014, Spielberg - Race 8/19

Does anybody know the constructors championship payout money, think Williams might tell their drivers to hold position to guarantee the points.

If they have a good season I guess they could get second.

I really wouldn't expect them to want them to fight, but Massa might not be too happy, he's got newer tires by a small amount, see how he does towards the end of the stint.

It's becoming a bit like last season now, RBR struggling with top speed at some tracks but awesome downforce.

Mercedes now sacrificing a bit of top speed vs FI/Williams, but much better overall car, but has hurt them down straights in a couple races. Not much because they are usually ahead but when they are behind they are getting stuck, stuck behind Bottas/Perez in this race for long periods.

As the season goes on and the Williams improves and FI do their long stints, that lack of top speed design could hurt them a little as it did RBR.

There is an old copy of the 1997 Concorde Agreement out there. It's seriously complicated to figure out how much people will get.

Aha... Found it. If anyone fancies a read of it - http://bdmunc.org/files/FIA-Supplement.pdf

I am not convinced Mercedes have been caught. It is just this kind of track.

They haven't been caught in out right pace, but ultimately if you take all the cars and out ahead of them somewhere is a hard red line where if they reach it, they hit brake heat, engine heat, battery heat limits and they can't go faster because the car starts to break. Ultimately Merc may have less room to improve because as they get faster they get closer and closer to the limit of the components, other cars aren't near those limits to start with so have more room for improvement.

Perez really needs to get a handle on his qualifying because in race he's been excellent, in terms of improvement and accounting for bad luck and car failures, he's basically owning Hulk on track but being spanked in qualifying.

Hamilton needs to do the same. He keeps putting himself in this position with too much to do.
