Problem is Rosberg both had that extra traction for now and Verstappen had nothing in front, while Ham is trying to pass Verstappen had a Sauber and now a Renault to get DRS and sliptstream.

As previous post, against Rosberg Max had nothing, against Hamilton he had two cars to slipstream and get DRS off.

Yeah its becoming quite obvious now.

Hamiltons first stop was too late and slow. Second stop was to the wrong tyres and slow.

I don't see it that way.

Ferrari should also have pitted earlier.

Ferrari and Hamilton were racing each other and trying to match each other as to the timing of pitstops.

All 3 didn't realise until it was too late that they had fallen behind Rosberg. If Hamilton had been second and Raikkonen 1st, the exact same situation would have played out.

Except they were all trying to get to one stop gap, if they weren't going for a one stop gap as apparently Hamilton wasn't there was absolutely no reason to stay out.
