Austrian Grand Prix 2016, Spielberg - Race 9/21

Same points and reprimand as Lewis got for going the wrong side of a pointless bollard on an abandoned qualifying lap.

Yep, driving 2/3rds of a lap with your car disintegrating during a live race is totally as dangerous as going the wrong side of a bollard, totally!

Why was Rosberg's even investigated for driving with a damaged car? Are you supposed to retire now when your front wing is damaged?

Some here seem to think so. It looked less dangerous than cars we've seen in the past riding over their front wing and trying to make it back to the pits. Didn't a Ferrari try to do that recently?

So Toto and Nico , it was a brake failure, definitely a brake failure as you said right after the race.

Or that's what they sold to the steward's , now he does a selfie video saying he went deep on purpose, but left Lewis space, but Lewis turned into him. I thought your brakes went?

What a horrible little coward and cheat he is. Disappointed with Toto also, although who knows what senior Merc bods might be saying/demanding.

Fact: Causing a collision with car 44 in turn 2.
Offence: Involved in an incident as defined by Article 38.1 of the FIA Formula One Sporting
Regulations.
Decision: 10 Second Time Penalty imposed after the race in accordance with Article 38.3 (10
seconds added to elapsed race time)
(2 penalty points awarded, 2 points total for the 12 month period).
Reason: Having taken note of the extensive evidence given by both drivers and the video and
telemetry data, it was apparent that Car 44 (HAM) was in front of Car 6 (ROS) – i.e.
more than fully alongside – and that the driver of Car 44 could have clearly made the
turn (T2) on the track, if not for the resultant collision. Car 6 did not allow Car 44
“racing room” and hence the driver of Car 6 was responsible for the collision

Not seeing any mention of brakes in that.

Mercedes not smelling of roses.

Also here's the menu to select a penalty from under Article 38.3 :

Then unconvincingly attempts to lie his way out of it, his body language screaming "sulky teen caught red handed".

It's not a pleasant character trait.

If rosberg would have gone around the corner and ran him wide he would have got away with it. Not turning at all... well that's just stupid!
