Max isn’t as good as people make out.

and Button finished ahead of Hamilton one season, so he's faster and Hamilton isn't as good as we think he is.

Races are situational, bad luck can change the result massively, points are AN indicator, not THE indicator.

In Spain Max beat ricciardo by 24 seconds, the biggest non crash/damage based gap between them this year. He was faster in China and two places ahead before the safety car with a significant gap to Ricciardo then he made a mistake passing Hamilton, then Vettel. Another season he won't make those mistakes. The raw pace Verstappen is a step above Ricciardo. There are times Ricciardo causes crashes and drops points as well. One season they go all one way, the next season the other, pace/talent remains either way.

Verstappen is beating him very consistently in qualifying and has better race pace. Honestly we're talking about Ricciardo very rarely being faster than Verstappen, Verstappen is usually a bit faster than Ricciardo and sometimes he's 20-30 seconds faster than Ricciardo.


Damn the start of this race, bottas taking two places back and Verstappen's pass on Kimi was freaking amazing.
