Lando is steadily rising in my opinion. I had him down as a popular second stringer, good enough to take wins in the right car but never a real challenger. His performances this year are beginning to make me question that.
 
Amazing by Russell and norris.
Merc have to have Russell next year. They absolutely have to.
A Williams in q3 on mediums? Didn't think that would ever happen again

Ocon and riccardo being schooled by thier team mates. Ugh I'm so annoyed Ocon got that contract. Came at the perfect time for him.
Gutted for alonso being held up like that.
Have to say I'm very surprised alonso is doing so well. Also surprised by riccardo doing so badlt. He may be screwed by all these moves. Definitely damaged stock now

If I was Hamilton I'd be concerned about being top driver.
Russell did an amazing job being plonked straight into that merc. Feels like a new batch of drivers are coming through.

Norris, Russell and you could almost put gasley in that. Oh how I wish (and wished last year) alpine could have got gasley and not Ocon
 
Also really pleased for perez. He deserves it after being booted like he was from AM after all he did for them.
Really like the guy.
 
Not great for Lewis of course but great too see Noris and Russell putting in the performances.

I hope Noris is able to be racey with Perez, he deserves a good race and a podium.

Max will sod off into the distance with Noris and Perez holding each other up for a few laps.

Merc? Who knows at this point... who knows?
 
The aim for norris surely has to be to beat one of the rbr/mercs?
Best of the rest is expected. Anything else is so much harder. Not the most fun situation to be in really.
 
Gutted Lando missed out on pole. Might not have been able to keep it in the race but would have liked to see him on the pole to start the race. Not sure how much Russell has to prove himself to get a seat at Merc.
 
Incredible lap from Norris. Shame he’s up there on his own though…

Hamilton will give a good fight tomorrow.

Vettel proper ****** Alonso up, glad he got the penalty.

Great job from Russell. He’s wasted in that car.
 
At this point I'd say Russell has nothing else to prove.

What on earth is happening with Ricciardo? I know Noris is putting the performances in but that Mclaren should be in Q3 all day long surely?
 
This I know why I don tlike Max now, his fans. Cheering because Lewis took 4th. Is their anywhere else that happens?

Wish I knew. I'd like to put it down to lack of testing and him having trouble adapting his style to the new car, but Sainz, Perez and Vettel have all upped their game in their new teams and cars while DannyRic is still languishing around 15th each race, 0.75-1s off his teammate. It seems his career is getting shot down with each race.

I don't like it, but I'd imagine it comes with the territory of being a 7 times world championship. Honestly people can right ****ards but I think it's human nature. I'd stopped watching F1 but I'd guess Schumacher wasn't that popular near the end of his winning run.

The Dutch fans are very partisan, even the commentators. My pet hate is the driver of the day poll being constantly in favour of Verstappen. He could have had an absolute mare of a race and still the ZiggoSport viewers would get him to #1

He's got himself a bit to blame really jumping from team to team. I don't really blame him but it opens up risk. Probably could have stayed at Renault. I wonder if his team mate would have been alonso or Ocon? He had the measure of Ocon mostly.
But he's probably close to done. No doors are going to open up better now. And he might be pushed back down the grid.. To where?
TR? Alpine? AM? none of these teams will have him. So Williams? AR? Haas? Probably his only options at this rate.

Wonder what it is. Because he was never this bad.
Even alonso is picking up his game. And he's been out of f1. DR has only changed teams
 
He's got a contract with McLaren up to the end of 2023 so he's got time to improve. It's a good job for him that he does as he's not looking hot property right now.
