What, care to prove your statement with some facts that Button lost as many points and or had as many undeserved failures/slow stops etc as Hamilton. I think I've seen more than once on here and the JA blog that isn't anywhere near true.

Button got absolutely bummed this year by Hamilton, it only looks remotely good for Button because of Hamiltons failures that were not his fault.

Quite why you are still trying to deny this is quite bizarre. I prefer Button to Hamilton but it's pretty obvious if both drivers had 100% reliability this year and no team errors at all only one driver would have been competing for the title and it wouldn't have been Button.

smr seems to have a healthy dislike for Hamilton, so I wouldn't waste your time

I'd have given it to Dario Franchitti for winning the Indy 500 again and showing the American open-wheelers who's the boss

Eh, he was nowhere in the overall standings and failed to convert his pole positions. I'd give Justin Wilson the nod for winning in a Dale Coyne car, on an oval no less. That's a more notable achievement given Ganassi and Penske win the majority of modern Indycar races. DC would struggle to make the top 10 most of the time, especially in the CART era.

Again I cannot fathom why Lewis fans feel he was so hard done by by the team. He had exactly the same amount of bad luck whether it be slow stops or mechanical failures as button yet people seem to remember only Lewis' misfortunes on that front.

That is just not true though. Lewis lost far more points than Button due to bad luck/mechanical failures. Jenson, 9 times out of ten, ended up benefitting from Lewis's mishaps because he was behind him most of the time...

Eh, he was nowhere in the overall standings and failed to convert his pole positions.

Yeah, but no-one in US motorsport gives a toss about the IndyCar championship, while the Indy 500 still at least holds some magic even after all of the stupid **** American open-wheel motorsport's upper echelon has gone through in the last 16 years :p

I don't dislike Hamilton or his fans, however deluded they are.

And here's the stats which I also posted in the Brazil thread:

Slow Pit Stops

Jenson Button (China) 1
Lewis Hamilton (Malaysia) (Bahrain) 2

Fuel Saving Team errors

Jenson Button (Australia) 1
Lewis Hamilton (Spain) 1

Car Faults

Jenson Button (Bahrain- Vibration) (Italy - Fuel Pressure) 2
Lewis Hamilton (Singapore - Gearbox) (Abu Dhabi - Fuel Pressure) 2

Collisions - Other Driver's Fault

Jenson Button (Monaco - hit by Kova) (Korea - hit by KK) 2
Lewis Hamilton (Belgium - hit by Grosjean) 1

Collisions - Driver's Fault

Lewis Hamilton (Spain - hits Maldo) 1

Punctures - Not the Driver's Fault

Lewis Hamilton (Germany) 1

Strategic Errors

Jenson Button (Hungary - 3 stop) 1

Total Handicaps

Jenson Button 7
Lewis Hamilton 8

Um.. Hamiltons car fell apart in korea ( the suspension). Also Hamilton was hit by Hulk in Brazil. and those are just two off the top of my head!

I would also say the Hamilton and Maldando thing was NOT Hamiltons fault. Maldonado just rejoined the track straight into him!?

Also, it's not just the amount of races where something went wrong, but their positions in the race - Hamilton missing out on 2/3 wins - if you did the same analysis but showed 'points lost' it would be a lot more in Hamiltons favour.

I think blaming Lewis for Maldonado driving into him tells you everything you need to know about smr's feelings on this.

That and ignoring Button driving into a HRT in Malaysia. And Hamilton losing the lead from 3 races. And ignoring the strategy screw up in Belgium. Also, what was the fuel screw up in Australia? Button won?

In points lost through screw up or failure Lewis is about 100 ahead of Button.

I wish Mercedes the best of luck getting hamilton to do any media work next year. He'd have got the prize if he could be bothered to turn up, clearly couldn't.

Or maybe people just like Jenson more, who doesn't have the petulance that Lewis carries with him.

Read the thread you posted those "stats" in again. You're failing to take in to account at least 2 roll bar failures (1 of which also not helped by the AstroTurf) and the fact you attribute every incident as Hamilton's fault is laughable.

Maybe Danica needs to come back:

(yes, that is her setting a faster lap than Dario on a road course at the end of the video :p )

Yeah, I don't feel the need to go on about that at length though. It's all in the past now, and Tony George isn't anywhere near the board. Pocono's back for the first time since 1989 so next year will have at least one reason to watch.

Lewis was outstanding this year, if anyone's to blame it's his useless team.

I'd go as far as saying Alonso & Lewis were the standout drivers this year.

lol, you do know button is already shacked up with someone right? He is never going to become your lover :(

Or jenson is on his last legs and he knows it..so he does anything he is told to do to keep his seat ;)
