just a note that the tridents i listed are b die too. you are paying for the name and rgb. so the 8 pack stuff is defo better value from what i can see!
Yeah the F4-4200C19Q2-64GTZKK and F4-4200C19Q2-64GTZSW are meant to be b die too, no RGB, a discount for coming in an 8 pack (excuse the pun) and warranty isn't voided for replacing the heatsinks. Just looks like I'll have to wait and see if I can get a cheap import as there don't seem to be any suppliers in Europe, otherwise it'll be the 8 pack kit.

Yeah 1.5v 24-7 is fine.

The better the kit the higher the bin especially in the sub timings RTL etc etc. The 8Pack stuff has higher bin than Tridents slightly and slightly better PCB. GSKILL defo charging heavy for RGB but if you want that then you have to pay!!!

I just got Retail 4500mhz kit which I will hopefully OC live from Multiplay tomorrow or Friday.

Thanks - am interested in what can be achieved using 8x8GB sticks on X299 for 24x7. For Kubernetes I need MHz, for games (lesser concern) it'll be much lower on MHz and tighter on the timings.

8x8 big stress on IMC and you cant use APEX or OCF which are the best memory OC boards.
Will be using the ASUS ROG Rampage Extreme VI, will be pre-ordering at the end of the month. Looking to use a 7940X. The QVL lists the 4200 stuff http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb...17.1323617799.1503583225-899602935.1503583225

Appreciate though that you've been in the game a lot more and are capable of LN2 or getting the most out of an APEX. I am after a 24x7 with great memory speeds.

Almost all CPU cant do 4200 QVL or not. I mean you need to test many CPUs to get 4200 working stable.
That's a real shame - hmm - gonna have to punch some numbers over the weekend to figure out the balance if working closer towards 4000 (unless even that is unrealistic to aim for on the 7940X).

Presumably running a delid on a decent water cooling rig isn't going to increase the chances significantly, it's more a silicon lottery kinda thing.

Removed ?? they have less than one clue about this kinda stuff.

I already told you 4K c17 is the best you can hope for with that cpu without binning Imc. If you need a binned high oc cpu with delid then maybe I can try to help.

After 10 I only planned to bin 16 and 18 core.

Was looking on Google. The 7900X pricing suggests that I'll be going to Overclockers to purchase. If there was a different retailer who'd leaked I'd be showing their page.

Only go there for cheaper prices on a couple of items like the Corsair AX1500i and the XE EKWB radiators.

Superflower 1600 cheaper and way better than corsair. But anyway. Totally passive upto 1350w in eco mode.

I am only joking you know. But for real specialist items with true testing only one reseller is doing it well.

Thanks. Wasn't too keen on the Superflower 1600 aesthetic, but good to know you view it as outperforming the AX1500i. Am appreciative of your feedback, and the work of Der8auer in the Case King group has been great too.

A bit too late too, have been making my custom cable around the Corsair Type 3 pinout, just have a bank holiday of sleeving now.

If there's a chance of a binned 14 core that'd be amazing (even with an understandable premium). Wont hold you to it - but if there's a possibility then I'm game (looking to order beginning of November for CPU/RAM). The clocks for the individual cores on stock alone for the 7940X and it being the lowest cored CPU on the higher TDP make it a compelling choice. Plus it's on the £100 per core scale, just before the £150 per core units.

Also if there's a chance of getting the monarch heatsinks (4x2) pre-fitted (to keep the warranty) using Minus pads to 2x of your 32GB 4133MHz RAM kits for an order at the beginning of November that'd be even better.

4000 @ 17 is very impressive. May I ask who Silent Scope is? Have they done a guide, etc?

It's a shame it's tad too pricey for me to deliver that theoretical 66Mhz extra.

This was done with F4-3200C14Q-32GTZ with 1.4v and tight subs. 4133 also possible, but 4200 I've only managed to pass GSAT for 10 minutes after much tweaking. The system hangs, so getting beyond 4133 requires a good (or more aptly exceptional IMC as Ian has said already). No real point being up that high anyway as concessions need to be made to timings

Appreciate for benchmarks/games timings + speed in unison matter. For my main Kubernetes workload it seems to be affected by speed the most.

Will have to see if the 7940X has a stronger IMC than the 7900X or settle for ~4GHz RAM. Although don't think the Extreme running 8 sticks will even come close to an Apex running 4.

Spent some time looking for Silent Scope - didn't realise it was Silent Scone.
