AVB leaves Chelsea (sacked)

Everton are broke and have no hope of achieving anything. Moyes would be out of his mind not to leave if a chance at a bigger club became available.

Would he actually resign though? I cant see it. Managers generally resign if there's something at the club they're not happy with and Everton having no money is hardly a new development.

If he was sounded out about taking over a bigger club, yes. I doubt he'd just resign on the hope of another job becoming available though.

It was a wind up on twitter anyway.

Are you sure? Twitter is usually pretty reliable when it comes to this stuff.

Thought AVB was a tool, didn't like his strategies......never the less, a lot of the problem is down to the players. They're just not quality any more. Aging and/or underperforming all over.

Spending 50m on Torres just to have him as bench boy kinda sums it all up. They're desperate.

I don't know why Abramovich, just doesn't manage the team himself, if he never seems to be happy with all the other managers. Plus he has known in the past to bring his own players in that the noboy else wanted.

I find it hard to have sympathy for AVB as he went about his job so poorly. Everyone knows the problems at Chelsea but he didn't do anything to fix it. The big players have bought into the hype that they were 'Mr Chelsea' and have been wielding too much power. This is not uncommon at a football club where managers are changed annually.

Because inevitably he would have to fire himself :p

dont know how accurate it is - but the Daily Fail has an article today about how RA has accused the dressing room of getting AVB sacked (by their attitiude in games etc) and that there will be huge changes in the summer

If he sticks to his word, it looks like RA wants to do the best for the club in the future (not unsurprising as such, but surprising its taken him this long to come out and say it to the players if no one else).

good bit on this in todays telegraph section and it raises a good point. the manager at chelsea will always come second to the players and AVB's form was the worst from a chelsea manager in a long time but they still don't look at the problems elsewhere:

technical manager/director (whose name escapes me) is just as much to blame
mata was an AVB signing, their only decent one

the players are just as much to blame

ancelotti wins the pl and the fa cup and is sacked a few months later? bonkers
the above is all summed up by some of the antics over the past few years at the club, a smoke flair was let off by a player/staff member at friday's training session, ashley cole not only brought an air rifle into training, he also shot an academy player with it, then there's the racism thing still hanging over terry. i'm sorry but that is ridiculous, school boy stuff.

too many ego's, too little time for managers, too much cash.

they summed up a chelsea manager by essentially saying take the job and then wait for the pay off.
