Awesome dad is awesome...

Hi i need some advice, i saved up £240 on JSA (it wasnt easy) and i also got £100 bday money. I can now afford thanks to this weeks only deal a nice new HIS 7950 at £335:) my question though (after reading this thread) theres a course i could do for a similar price that could get me one step closer to a job. Should i get my priorities right or say sod it cause works pretty hard to come by, trust me im out looking, well not out but i am checking the newspapers and internet (8mb cost £7/month before i get linched) like probably every other day when i remember. Job searching is not easy like some posters on here say, heres my typical day, get up at 10:00am, have breakfast and shower etc. Search for jobs in paper and internet, then go shopping (food and booze) play on the pc/xbox/ps3/3ds for a few hours. Check internet again for jobs. Thats it i cant really do anything else apart from phyically walking around to other companys and talking to them in person to get applications or giving them my cv, i do have a life.

Edit: Sorry just trying out the spoiler tag, how come you cant see what i type in the spoiler tag unless you highlight it?
This is a complete troll post

Sounds like emotional bribery to me.
He buys a house for you to live in an attempt to probably try and win brownie points with you and keep you away from your mother.

Lets see how fun it is when hes also living with you because by the sounds its been bought as a fall back place for him.

why now? hes sad and has nothing else to do mabye?

What are you getting upset and calling me sad for, I only pointed out a very simple grammatical error that you made (more than once).

Good luck getting a job if you make such terrible mistakes on your CV for example.

Free house, nothing wrong with that, family helps family if they can/want to. I don't think anyone cares about that.

Taking money that OTHER PEOPLE WORK FOR to pay for internet and over the top tv when he does not have to take that money is what people are upset about, rightly.

benefits don't have a limited amount and if he doesn't claim them someone else will, we have a massive deficit, every £50 anyone takes WHEN THEY DON'T NEED IT, is another £50 borrowed this country can't afford, which leads to more debt that people who actually work pay off with their tax money.

If he doesn't actually NEED the money he could choose not to take it.

I have no real problem at all with people out of work, who are looking for a job having a place to stay and money for food and the essentials, Sky HD is NOT an essential, internet is, one of the most expensive internet packages out there is not.

He could have no subscription tv, £5-10 internet package, and not help push this country further into debt.

He also came across as rather smug, not over the house, but in a "haha, I get free tv and internet" and didn't really come across as working hard to find himself a job either.

Is it normal for people on here to be so judgemental.

Some of the replies are well out of order

Hope you find a job soon OP and good on your old fella for helping you out, sure you'll be there for him when he's old and needs your help..

In all fairness, what someone does with their benefits is entirely up to them. JSA is an entitlement not a handout. God knows how much individuals pay each year in taxes, from income tax, NI and consumption tax. The money you receive from JSA is peanuts. The only reason for me to get JSA is to cease the barbaric council tax and to still contribute to the basic state pension. The peanuts you receive £45 per week is nothing, and sometimes feels like a nuisance, the job centre is utterly useless for my in my line of work, so when I'm inbetween jobs I have to sign up to JSA and put up with their nonsensical job training and all the other malarky.

So don't be so judgemental, if someone is out of work, JSA is their right, for the years that have or will have to pay NI and income tax.

Re: country into debt.

it's not the peoples fault, it's the bank's fault. We have socialism for the richest group of people in the country. If anyone else mismanages their business, they go bankrupt. Not for the super rich, they get state bailouts.

If anyone you should be angry with it's the banks and their ridiculous tax avoidance. They are so good at it that they pay 2-3% corporation tax in effect, when the official corporation tax amount is 30%.

If these super rich banks and other multinationals paid a fairer share of corporation tax, we would have much easier life, they're like leeches sucking out money from the general population with high interest CCs, loans, mortgages. And not paying back a fair share to HMRC.

Words fail me.

since when? lol maybe research your daily mail based opinions

the only things that effect JSA are savings

he could even setup a tenancy agreement with his dad and get housing benefit then his dad could pocket the money if he wanted to.

Pretty sure you can get housing benifit when renting from direct family.
