With all of the excessive safety that has infested F1 whose idea was it to have a track with man holes on the tarmac? even when they aren't becoming dislodged it can't be good for tyres driving over them.

Its been fine for years at most street circuits, there are measures in place to keep them down, but in this instance, one of the mountings broke.
All the others were tested as secure.

It's an unusual problem, (but it has happened before!) and the comedy of errors afterwards was just the icing on the unusual cake :D

F1 takes these things seriously, and it will be revisited and resolved.
 
Not unusual street circuit hazards. Move along.

Have a look what happened in the F2 race... someone ran over some Marshall’s when they were pushing him. Now that’s unusual!
 
Kubica in the wall....
Williams really having a terrible weekend.

Kubica clipped the wall on the left and broke the steering arm by the looks of it.
