B Grade GPU

@ Gigabyte-Gaming
1) Is there any way to confirm with Gigabyte how much warranty is remaining on a B Grade card that I purchased from OCUK about 6 months ago?
2) What is the correct process for an RMA if my card should develop a fault? Most manufacturers tell you to go through the retailer and unless you are lucky OCUK will tell you that if the problem occurred after their 90 day cover they are unable to assist.

The proof of purchase is what i am missing, gigabyte have offered to attempt a repair though. Do you think it's worth the cost of sending it in? Are most repair attempts successful?

Con you not try contacting the retailer and asking if they have a copy of the invoice they can send you?

Failing that, would a bank statement showing the money being taken suffice?

It would've been purchased on a credit card that i used to have, i cancelled that card over a year ago as they stopped giving reward vouchers.

I've submitted an rma support ticket and explained the situation and will send it in and hope for the best. I think I got it from ocuk but not sure, would've been nearly 2 years ago i reckon.

Found it !!!! Just had a thought and scrolled back through all my gmail and found the invoice from ocuk ! It was a B Grade item so will have to go direct to Gigabyte then but will presumably get a replacement now if they can't repair it :)

I'm reasonably sure that OcUK's "90 day" return period on B-grade items would not stand up in court, as the Sale of Goods act still applies to B-grade (and refurbished) items.

Ie if a fault developed outside of the 90 days you could successfully argue that it was not fit for purpose or of satisfactory quality. Nobody is going to accept that a £200 B-grade graphics card could reasonably fail after 90 days.

So you could still legally have OcUK refund or replace the item. They cannot ignore statutory rights by labelling it as B-grade.

What are the return policies like on B-Grade items? Do they have the 14 day money back guarantee? For example i bought one of the ROG Swifts, but it came with dead pixels, could i send it back for a full refund?
Also, if i got the B-Grade 980 and it came with an obvious fault what would happen?

I bought an LG 29 inch ultrawide B-Grade a while ago, it looked as though it had been opened, put together and sent back, perfect monitor! Absolute bargain aswell

You have exactly the same rights. Unless the advertisement says otherwise, the product must be 100% working. It must also comply with the "fit for purpose" and "satisfactory quality" aspects of the Sale of Goods act. You have the same distance selling rights. You have the same right to a refund or replacement if it develops a fault.

The "B-grade" label does not reduce or restrict your rights in any way at all.

I have a SFF system so its a good fit too.

Had seen pics of this card before, and thought looked a bit ugly. But hands on it looks ok, solid built. Using my 1080P monitor for gaming with this as a stopgap until real new gen cards on die shrink appear, then I'll probably move to 4K. Tbh can do with the money from passing my 980 Ti on. This lil card should be good stop gap and save some money to upgrade to 4K monitor and high end GPU next year.

Temps on this thing are great, IDLE 28C, load around 55C.

Gaz, you are bonkers mate!! A single well-clocked Ti is *more* than capable of 4k with a few settings dropped, why lose out on a card again and just enjoy it? You can switch the the next Ti when it's out then :)

Maybe you're missing the right monitor?

Need the money mate :P

Massively overspent this month, got MOT next week, Xmas soon. High end gaming can wait. When I've got some more cash flow I'll get another high end card and a 4K monitor. I never keep a card for long anyway I like to chop and change. April next year would be spot on for new die shrunk cards, and enough funds for 4K monitor / card upgrade.

PS4 and GTX 960 @ 1080P will suffice until then..
