B Grade GPU

Well I bought an R9 290 blew 3 months later. Waited an entire month to get a replacement and was fine for browsing but crank it up gaming and it glitched out presumably something overheating.

Gave up the unequal struggle after that and bought a new one. No more trouble. Would I have another b-grade? Absolutely not.

I carnt find any used 970s except on the bay which i wont use
As a buyer on ebay you have good protection for problems. I use eBay quite a bit for used items, though always try to stay with manufacturers who allow transferable warranties. As you are looking for EVGA you should be good.

You've probably got better protection because if you get a problem, claim a full refund. No chasing etailers and going through manufacturer's lengthy RMA procedures. I actually bought my CPU and motherboard from there boxed and new, still going great. Mobo was 1/2 price.

All I can offer is my different experience with a 290. Bought it B Grade and it still works...

1) Is there any way to confirm with Gigabyte how much warranty is remaining on a B Grade card that I purchased from OCUK about 6 months ago?

I think the only way would be to ask our RMA center using your serial number.

2) What is the correct process for an RMA if my card should develop a fault? Most manufacturers tell you to go through the retailer and unless you are lucky OCUK will tell you that if the problem occurred after their 90 day cover they are unable to assist.

If OCUK doesn't take it, then we will handle it from our RMA center in UK.

From personal experience manufacturers can have clauses in their warranties stating that they do not apply to items purchased on Ebay. This is because of the huge number of counterfeit and pirated goods that are sold through this channel. I would no longer consider buying anything from Ebay that I would want to have the ability to RMA.

I bought my B Grade Gigabyte 780Ti from OCUK for £199 about 6 months ago, the card was mint and has been hassle free.

The key is obviously to buy items from the likes of EVGA and Gigabyte that will provide an RMA route for the entire warranty period.
