** B-Grade Warranty - Extended to 90 days **

so if the mobo dies in 15 days time i have wasted £60 :(

Chance are components do generally not break if they currently work. Plus there maybe warranty with the manufacturer directly (however you would need to contact them directly to find out)

95% of faulty products tend to be DOA.

Come on OCUK you can do better than this. This is something that needs addressing. I've nothing against b-grade items and have bought several clearance items in the past but if I don't know whats missing or whats included this has a tendency to put me off.

I think you are missing the point here.

Some customers have a tendancy to send back mobos without the accessories once they are faulty or refunded etc.

So we cannot list a product which states it includes accessories when some clearly don't.

For example I have 5 R2E boards. 3 Have accessories 2 do not. However 2 out of the 3 with accessories have 1 SATA cable less and the 3rd board with accessories doesn't have an I/O shield.

Now tell me the easiest way of listing these? I could setup a product for every single variation of amount of accessories included with the motherboard but then you would ened up with 20+ products for the same motherboard and then no one would ever look at them as there would be too many!

So if for example, I wanted to buy the "B Grade" EVGA GTX 470 you have listed, which states that it comes with a 2/10 Year EVGA warranty when registerd + copy of Mafia 2, would all of this still apply or are you actually only offering product as is with 90 days warranty with the rest being pot luck, i.e the card could have been already registered/repaired etc.

Thanks

There's some tempting items there, motherboard wise..but it's just offputting knowing you might be missing I/O shields etc.

I mean, granted its just cosmetic but it means a lot to people

B-grade needs looking at from top to bottom, as some of the prices are more expensive than full retail and most prices are out of date, just needs one of the purchasers to find the time and go through each product. Nice move on the warranty.

Sorry to bump but interested to clarify these points prior to purchase

Thanks:)

Isn't policy that you don't replace or give refunds unless the items returned are complete? If I didn't return something as important as an I/O shield when returning a motherboard, I would not expect to get a refund.

Seems to go against what you're saying above.

Personally I've often been tempted by B-Grade, but lack of clarity on what is included holds me back. For example, a motherboard, I would never buy without an I/O shield (leaving an ugly hole round the back, dust/dirt getting in etc) - wouldn't care less about sata cables, manuals, drivers, box etc... but some things are important.

90 day return is a huge step in the right direction, but would not of been the area I would have put your effort into first. Either reflect the price in what you are selling, or have some form of B-Grade-Grading system. My 2p worth.

Certainly on products where there are only 1 or 2 stock items(most), it should be possible to list/detail each product correctly and as stated, rather than a blanket price, the price should reflect the completeness of the product.

Also remove any info that cannot be verified, i.e, manufacturer warranty etc and give a general condition report.
After all, a new product by virtue of being new is implied to be perfect and is bought as such.
A "B Class" product by definition is not perfect but it would be nice to know its imperfections prior to purchase.

In general, people buy when they know what they are getting and can then reconcile the price they will be paying relative to their requirements.

PS, 90 days is a good improvement:)

Indeed. If a new item is, say, £100 - and a b-grade is £85, customers need to be able to make a judgement on whether the extra £15 is worth it, for the risk of maybe not getting something which, whilst not essential, would sway their decision - beyond just warranty.

Seriously guys, we give you something extra for free :) Longer warranty and all we get is complaints?

B-Grade has always been none-specific regarding the accessories, and you guys focus on that instead of the new offering.

I believe people are merely saying, even with 90 day warranty (on what you do get, which is a mystery), the gamble of not having certain parts is not worth the slightly discounted price.

It's not really complaining..it's just people wanting to know what they're actually buying.

Well we won't be changing how we do anything else with B-Grade, their will be no grading system. So if your buying B-Grade then assume the product is just the bare product.

With 14 day warranty we were moving plenty of B-Grade lines, now we will move more so you either want a deal.

I understand what the Don's are saying, it would be a pain to go through every B grade item and post on the site exactly what's in there and what's not, maybe an option to call in ask what's in the box? That way you only get the guys who are genuinly interested in the item, saving you time and effort.
