Yeah the time was pretty good but I'm certain I could go sub 12.4 with flat shift and a better launch. I only got 4 shots at it because it was bloody busy and didn't fancy idling in a queue for 25 mins heating up the car.

Scoobdoo, terminal was 111.x mph.

How resilient are turbo mx5 cars on track days for coping with heat ?

Sounds like if they are ok for heat a 240+ bhp,1000 kilo, track tyred, coilovered mx5 would be a great weapon..... and for low cash to high fun ratio

Yowser that's the same speeds I cross the line! Nice one!

Not sure if I've read it before, but what sort of power does your scoob have? It's a blob eye right?

Haha thanks, but the sticker has been removed now. I bought it for a laugh for a friend with a bug eye STi. Still not had a bit of sport with him yet, but I'm pretty sure he'll walk away. It's an import STi v7 with an MD321T turbo at around 450bhp. Pulls like a raped gorilla.

You need to reroute the cooling to be on the safe side. This is due to the engine originally being for a fwd and they didn't alter the cooling setup to suit in rwd. Not a bad job to do when fitting a Turbo and keeps a more even cooling for the engine. For more infocthere is a big thread on the miata Turbo forum.

certainly sounds interesting.... Cheers for the detail

So I hit the rolling road today to see what she's putting down. I already had an idea of what kind of power I'd be making, but was really happy when it was confirmed.

323 bhp at the flywheel and 270 at the wheels with a peak of 273 lb ft of torque. Very pleased. Needless to say, it's a bit quick.

 That's mental quick in 5.

150% more power than stock! I can't remember if I read before, but is it still on stock internals?

Can only imagine how quick that is.
