Yeah still standard internals but with the added safety of water/methanol injection. Hoping to slay some serious machinery at Knockhill tomorrow, lol.

It feels great right now, and I'm particularly happy with the torque curve, or lack of a drop off. It feels relentless into the limiter.

Also I need to get back to the quarter mile. I think I could get low 12's, or dare I say it, break into 11's.

Housey - what do you think your race car weighs in at? I'm getting a daily driver diesel soon so I'm considering making this into a full on track car.

I was gonna ask you a few questions but I'll just go and read your thread! :)

I might be racing it at Knockhill so come and see it then if it's local to you and speak to Matt who built them all, he's far better at explaining stuff about it, I get in and drive it, he makes it go :D

I uploaded a video of the car from Knockhill on Sunday. It's mainly a tussle between me and my friends Integra (Ex VTEC challenge race car but with a Supercharged CTR engine @ 300hp. Plastic Windows etc). The camera mount wasn't great (Flip ducktaped to the sunvisor!) so it's a bit shaky.

Main complaints of the day were the brakes felt terrible. I didn't have time to replace the fluid or even bleed them before I left. It also understeered quite a bit, which I put down to my alignment being out after I replaced the steering rack gaitor a few weeks ago. Apart from that it was a great day and the car as excellent with no overheating problems. Wheelspin has got me looking at big gay wings though.

Uhmm did you watch the video? lol

Lol - just finished watching all 8 mins of it and I agree the MX5 holds its own pretty well against the Teg, from 4:30 (ish) on you got past him nicely, though it sounded like a missed gear? Looked like a nice little scrap though, helped along by the usual Scottish summer weather

Not sure what power I had at the strip. I'd guess I was 20-30bhp down on the current spec, or whatever 2psi and meth gave me. I'll need to get back with launch control, flatshift and early 12's should be possible.

Yeah I tried to find them, not grind them but it didn't always work :D

Added another couple, including me spinning off due to late braking and not finding 3rd gear!! The hot hatch day wasn't up to much in terms of interesting cars to play with. I'll need to get on a TrackScotland or Dreadnaught night soon.

That is one mega quick '5, thought I must say that Nova sounds awesome!

I think Salami has made 2 of the fastest MX-5s out there bar a few professional builds.

His last one is back up for sale but to quote a previous owner, "it has the show to match the go".
